Let people wear what they want?
We have people running around in frog suits, 2B bottoms and bikini tops, animal print thongs dyed metallic green - but a raid set having a glow you don't like is where you draw the line and want a toggle?

FFXIV doesn't have a specific aethstic identity, we had glowing armor before, we have animal suits, we have modern streetwear and a lot of other things.
"It's Final Fantasy, so everything goes" is always the reply when someone thinks something doesn't "fit" and it also applies here.

I'm surprised that no one talks about how terribly rigged the ring is. It's just glued to your back, so if your character turns its back a little bit, ring moves by 1/4 of a meter. It's made same way WHM's Temperance effects works, but the unnatural wiggle is much more noticeable. Shame because rest of the armor is amazingly done.

I can't stand them. It makes my constant afking in limsa a nightmare, I can't even see if people are turning their heads to look at me over the glare of their laser donuts and don't even get me started on how out of place it looks. This armor ruins every run when the other party members are looking stylish in their modern sweaters and converse shoes and here comes the tank looking like some kind of magic fantasy knight larper. It's disgusting honestly.

The irony of this thread after I got crap for saying these sets should only drop from savage tier raids lol. This is what happens when you make them easily accessible.

Honestly, the easiest compromise would be to attach the VFX of the sets to the helmet, and make /visor toggle off the effects.

It moving so much is clearly on purpose, to make it hardr for lions and critters to straight out jump into it.

I mean there was the cashmere healing(?) set that had a slight blue tone to it, but aside from that I'm only aware of relic weapons/ultimate glams/primal weapons. But the cashmere set didnt look out of place in ARR considering it was a preexisting item with a faint glow attached to it. Whereas these ones are straight out of blizzard HQ. We'll have to agree to disagree!

Those are easy to ignore. Giant glowing hula hoops that float like 2 feet off the body, not so much.

No one has an issue with the armor. It’s the animation of the giant ring that is the problem. If you want to wear a thong into battle, be my guess, but the glaring giant ring that is 1 foot from the wearer is very noticeable.
