Are positionals a outdated thing?

I don't really care if it stays or goes honestly, but outside of being a minor inconvenience that is immediately remedied by true north, what exactly does having positionals bring to the game?

It shows the difference between the people who read the tool tip and those that don't. It's like asking what does having the hammer bros. enemy in the mario game bring to the game; they are just fake difficulty after all :^). it's meant to be a test of skill. You know, that thing that use to go hand in hand with video games? Again, i'm you know whating against the wind, bring in the nerfs and bigger burst window~!
