    No, positionals aren't an outdated system. The problem is people keep asking for it to be made easier and more forgiving. Did you know there was a time that if you missed a positional it's secondary effect didn't work? That missing a positional was a major dps loss instead of a minor one?

    Man, I'm like the furthest thing away from being an UwUber casual or a greaseball tryhard. I'm just tired of people acting like getting rid of a feature completely knowing damn well SE won't replace it with anything meaningful is any better than, Hydaelyn forbid, actually improving said feature.

    Can't really have a fair take on how they impact the actual technical play of a job/fight at a decent level, but I do wish they had better feedback when you hit them. Nothing crazy, but could help them feel more relevant or rewarding to people who aren't checking their funny internet numbers for a fight.

    The regen change was kinda weird, too. Doesn't actually matter at all, but still weird, unless it's trying to make the aggro list more useful for new people or something?

    Positionals are kind of just whatever to me. I wouldn't be against removing them, but SE would need to give melees something resembling complexity in exchange for that loss. Melees would be mind numbingly boring without them.

    I don't think they harm anything by being in the game. They can be safely ignored pre-Extreme/Savage and so lil' Johnny Buttonmash doesn't have to get in a bunch about them. If he's derping along happily not doing positionals then who cares, he's already not doing any form of rotation so no worries. For the top end crowd, well, they are supposed to be good at class optimisation so it gives them something to strive for, which they are always asking for.

    See? Everyone's pretty happy with it just being as is.

    The thing with postionals (also who the hell is xenosys? and why should we care what he thinks?) is its not implemented properly. Great postionals have a reward system, the thing they removed from DRG and MNK for literally no reason besides homgenzation and broaden the already broad-as-hell spectrum of people throwing a tantrum that their job doesnt play itself. Another key thing is visibility, Theirs literally no indication that your direction is the right direction with bosses with no clear head or ass, their is but its very vague and its never ever brought up in game.

    I will ONLY condone removal of mechs if it means the jobs with pos have added nuisance to them and you know dam well the devs dont like making jobs more complex only more simple as we have seen with every single job rework since 4.4. Starting to think the devs think us idiots. I mean RDM rotation is literally 1-2-3-4-5-6

    No, and the reason is, you quoted someone who is a main tank.

    Aside from knowing how to play monk for example, do you know who else is a factor to say Monks damage, the tanks.

    If the tank sucks are how they keep the boss, then the Monk damage can suffer so they are partly to blame for the lack of uptime.

    Complexity, dexterity and synergy between others makes for more engaging gameplay as a whole.

    After reading this I'm not sure if you've ever done a savage fight. It's fun figuring out where to stand in an encounter. That's basically BLM but not as punishing. Making potencies not matter 'as' much is a good compromise. Also, tank, healers, ranged AND magical DPS don't even have them. Choose one of them, problem solved.
