I'd be okay with bringing all of the positionals back to Monk because playing Guild Wars 2 taught me how to not be a flatfoot.

After reading this thread all I can say is that the devs will cater to those that don't like positionals and it will just be another byproduct of "streamlining" the game. Oh well, that no child-, er player left behind mentality will only be a boon for the game*!
*It will bring in more short term profits which may or may not be reinvested into the game
Honestly, I think if they do remove positionals, player feedback won't have been the primary drive or even a significant contributor imo. Job ease of use has been the direction they've been taking for a long time now. After reading this thread all I can say is that the devs will cater to those that don't like positionals and it will just be another byproduct of "streamlining" the game. Hell, they even buffed provoke this patch. Why the hell did provoke need a buff.
Same reason why regen ticks no longer create hate. Personally, I love the divide the devs are fostering between hyper casuals and min maxers by going down this road. It makes for a really funny scenario for the onlookers between the two factions, lol.Honestly, I think if they do remove positionals, player feedback won't have been the primary drive or even a significant contributor imo. More nerfs!
More 2 minute window burst upkeep!
Xenosys won't be happy until the game plays itself.
No, positionals aren't an outdated system. The problem is people keep asking for it to be made easier and more forgiving. Did you know there was a time that if you missed a positional it's secondary effect didn't work? That missing a positional was a major dps loss instead of a minor one?
Man, I'm like the furthest thing away from being an UwUber casual or a greaseball tryhard. I'm just tired of people acting like getting rid of a feature completely knowing damn well SE won't replace it with anything meaningful is any better than, Hydaelyn forbid, actually improving said feature.Same reason why regen ticks no longer create hate. Can't really have a fair take on how they impact the actual technical play of a job/fight at a decent level, but I do wish they had better feedback when you hit them. Nothing crazy, but could help them feel more relevant or rewarding to people who aren't checking their funny internet numbers for a fight.
The regen change was kinda weird, too. Doesn't actually matter at all, but still weird, unless it's trying to make the aggro list more useful for new people or something?
Positionals are kind of just whatever to me. I wouldn't be against removing them, but SE would need to give melees something resembling complexity in exchange for that loss. Melees would be mind numbingly boring without them.
I don't think they harm anything by being in the game. They can be safely ignored pre-Extreme/Savage and so lil' Johnny Buttonmash doesn't have to get in a bunch about them. If he's derping along happily not doing positionals then who cares, he's already not doing any form of rotation so no worries. For the top end crowd, well, they are supposed to be good at class optimisation so it gives them something to strive for, which they are always asking for.
See? Everyone's pretty happy with it just being as is.
