I'd say Ultima difficlty was about the same as an alliance raid, so there is content of that difficulty, just it's 24 men. And I guess normal raids are also about the same tbh, I'd even say this tier of normal raids is harder than ultima unreal.

Yeah that's what normal mode content is for... Where people frequently get carried and still clear within the length of a weekly Netflix episode. If that's enjoyable there are 4 brand new normal raid bosses to do every week.
So stop dying and missing mechanics in a clear party. Not being able to fail mechanics doesn't mean it's savage level. Every extreme has had mechanics you can't ignore.Seph might as well be a Savage in terms of personal responsibility. One f-up by one person missing a mechanic is frequently a wipe. And with how tight the DPS check is, 3-4 deaths in p3 is a wipe to enrage so you might as well just wipe and reset if there are any deaths and save the time.
If the problem is only other people making mistakes, here's a tip. Don't go for the hand holding parties with a comment saying something like "let's try it and no salt please". Those attract players who are unsure about the mechanics and expect gentle guidance. Meaning you'll spend the next 2 hours teaching them the first phase until people begin to leave and you get to start fresh with a new batch of inexperienced players.
I don't know about that. I write no salt often in my PFs and it's usually chill and smooth experiences, while wehn I don't write I get people who play horribly and keep wiping the party while at the same time getting angry and blaming literally anyone else but themselves for failure. Not being salty doesn't mean you wanna be carried, it means you're mature enough not to throw a fit, and rather discuss mistakes with calm and contructive criticism. Bad attitude doesn't equal high skills at all.If the problem is only other people making mistakes, here's a tip. My best clear parties in different patches have been the ones with something like "2 wipes = disband", "don't waste my time" or "fail and get kicked". Got my clear today in one of those. They ended up being more lenient and handled a couple of wipes without any salt, but the description did its job filtering out people who go into a clear party unprepared. The leader was competent as well. He just didn't want his time wasted anymore lol.I don't know about that. I feel for you Issaella. I tried sooo hard the last 2 days to get a party to go the distance and it was just failure, failure, failure. PF people simply assume they can go in with little to no experience and clear this in a hour. Sorry, ain't happening.
Finally I got into a 'clear' party that people seemed to know what they were doing. It still took 2 complete 60 min sessions to get our act together, but we finally did it and I got my 'duty complete.'
The hard part was that DPS check though. Even if you know what to do mechanic wise: if too many people die there is no chance to beat the enrage. We saw 0.*% soooo many TIMES! We had to resort to potting to get the DPS to kill it.
Well, that's PF parties for you, you take what you can get and hope for the best. LOL
Raid statics though seem to have little trouble with it, which is not surprising being expert players and all
And the best thing about this fight? The HEALING! My God is this fight a healing challenge! Soooo much fun as I cleared as a White Mage. Yeah, for healers that complain about no challenging healing, try this fight.![]()

I would suggest to find old HW videos of the Sephirot EX fights to get a better understanding of the mechanic flow that occurs at sync'd and at launch patch ilvl. And also perhaps turn down some of the skill effects if they are too bright?
Journey to all fish: 1383/1729 (348 remaining) [79%]

Maybe I've been into low dps teams but I cannot recall his HP to be this high. I'm sure the first phase only repeated like 2 times for most parties and healing felt a lot easier too.
I just hope people won't get discouraged trying out faux hollows again as it's a fun piece of weekly content

One thing to note about healing feeling more intense than you might be used to is that in 3.2 you relied a lot more on GCD heals and all three healers had strong tools to make their GCD healing stronger during that time (such as divine seal on WHM)
So if you aren’t actively making use of heal up buffs like temperance, dissipation, physis 2 etc then the healing is quite high for an extreme because back then the devs actually balanced fight healing expecting you to use every tool you had, not like 2 out of 15 pick of the box like now
Some of the unreals are gonna be harder than others, just like the extremes they're based off of.
Consequently, I made the decisions both to run Ultima as much as I could, and to not touch this fight with a 10 foot pole. It'll switch to something easier again eventually.
oh yeah. It IS a marked difference than ultima.
Everyone has to be on the ball here.
especially during the debuff phase.
And my condolences to the healers. xD
a trick if you just want to learn the mechanics, do the EX fight unsynced and let him do his mechanics so you can practice it.
