Mounts now auto-switching the PS4 hotbar – can this be stopped?

do you not use L3 to dismount? that’s the default dismount button on controller. while it isn’t a fix, it’ll make dismounting painless at least

I just use my mount keybind again, which is on a shared hotbar that I need to depress both triggers for.

I've had 0 problems.

Anyone find a solution? This has been pretty annoying on gatherers since I'm used to using cordials while flying between nodes. Haven't found a way to turn it off besides just disabling the pet hotbar.

Also seeing the same behavior - really annoying. The same behavior happens with umbrellas as well. I like the auto-umbrella thing when its raining but it completely replaces my default cross hotbar when it starts raining.


I wish the "Automatically replace cross hotbar 1 with pet hotbar when mounted" setting worked as expected

I never did file the bug report on this. I should do that.

I filed a bug report when this first got broken like 10-11 months ago, but it didn't do anything.

I'm even more suspicious because they fixed the broken camera in the character/gear screens. And that only got messed up at the beginning of 6.3, but this problem which has been happening since 6.1 is still unfixed.

I meant 6.2. I misremembered and thought it's been messed up since last spring. I guess it's only been since summer.

I'm on PS5 but this should still work and may be helpful to anyone who is still having this issue:

Character Config -> Hotbar Settings -> Cross (You'll have to tab over twice to this)

Under General Settings, there are a number of boxes ticked in this order:
1. Enable cross hotbar.
2. Always display cross hotbar.
3. Display hotbar help.
4. Use pet hotbar.
5. Use pet hotbar for mount actions and fashion accessories.
...

Turn the fifth option 'off'.

I was having this same issue and this is what did it for me.
