Mounts now auto-switching the PS4 hotbar – can this be stopped?

I'm pretty sure this is a new change in 6.2 – when I get on a mount which has a special action, my hotbar automatically switches to the mount hotbar, so when I go to dismount, the button is not where I expect it to be, and I don't like its default placement on the mount hotbar.

I've had to stop using my white griffin because it's not worth the annoyance of the extra button presses.

Can I turn off this auto-switching somewhere in the menu?

I don't know if it's the same on PS4, but on PC:

Character Config -> Hotbar -> Bottom option
"Automatically replace cross hotbar 1 with pet hotbar when mounted"

It may be a bug, whether this is clicked on or off doesn't make a difference. It now always changes.

Try going to cross and take off Petbar for mount the only issue is the bar goes away completely including the action

It kinda is doing the same for the PS5 and I normally use my cross bar 8 to mount and dismount...

Thanks, I checked it and it was turned on, though I don't think it was on before, and in any case as MercuryD said it is still changing even if the setting is turned off.

It's not a bug, it's a recent change relating mounts with actions. It will show up always

At that point I would call it a bug and file a report.

I haven't noticed it happening on PS5, so could just be something with the PS4. Though I think I've only hopped onto 1 mount with an action since the patch. Will need to try it later when I finish work to see if that happens on PS5 as well.

do you not use L3 to dismount? that’s the default dismount button on controller. while it isn’t a fix, it’ll make dismounting painless at least

If anything, I wish that applied to mounts that you use in the beast tribe quests. It always throws me for a loop when I have to use the hotbar to dismount, lol.

i was gonna ask the same thing cause I thought i was going crazy it keeps on switching every time i mount lol xo
