That yes aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand.....If you release Aerith around, she hands you a white lily and says “this is for you”I just wished they gave us instanced housing instead of whatever this is supposed to be. After hearing and seeing enough evidence to make my own mind up about this content, I have decided it isn't worth engaging with me for nor do I think it should have taken the place of...well any number of things really.
A restoration, a relic zone, and most importantly housing for all players. Instead the only unique features are in Island Sanctuary are minions who say things like "this is Thancred" and a bath house.![]()
I'd rather just get through the content and move on to the next thing rather than having all my content funelled and stretched out just so i have yet another daily/weekly activity designed to put me into the habit of logging in on a daily/weekly basis to keep my sub going. It's meant to be slow and inefficient.
There's no rush you can do it in 3 years like in 1 day.
The island is a dessert that last over a long period of time without being grindy. If you eat the whole dessert, you can't complain it's too big for your mouth or that there is no dessert anymore.
The best way to enjoy this content is the slow way as craft and deliveries will grant you more experience than farming materials.
But isn't that what MMOs are about? Giving you something to do? Would be rather boring if you just create a character, press a button and then have everything in the entire game forever and that's it. Cause that is what most people here cry for it seems.I'd rather just get through the content and move on to the next thing rather than having all my content funelled and stretched out just so i have yet another daily/weekly activity designed to put me into the habit of logging in on a daily/weekly basis to keep my sub going.
Island Sanctuary is basically playing itself for all the players who want it slow and calm, you can plan literally two weeks of production ahead and then just ignore it and reap the rewards after your sweatshop mammets are done. How much more lazy should it get?
You don't give me more to do by funelling and stretching what could be done in a day, over weeks or months by timegating my progress. My sub keeps ticking away while i'm waiting for weekly resets. I'd much rather do it all and then move on to another game. Like with every other game. Waiting is not content. But isn't that what MMOs are about? Giving you something to do? Basically this. Who was asking for this sort of thing to be added to FFXIV in the first place? Even among the people who wanted some kind of farming content? I imagine that those sort of games provide more activities and active things to do compared to the current state of Island Sanctuary. The bottom line is that resources were allocated to this when they could have gone towards more highly requested features.

This. Mobile games make you wait 12 hours or more for anything to do on purpose to get you to pay money, they aren't designed to provide a great gameplay experience but to wring every last penny out of you if possible.
I already consider this design obnoxious at best for a game on your phone that doesn't cost you anything if you're stubborn enough. Adding it to a game with a monthly subscription certainly doesn't magically make it not terrible.
If you consider waiting around to be content because "mobile games do it and they make a lot of money" then I must seriously wonder if we slipped into the clown universe at some point.
You know what other game has a bunch of this content design? You know, that game in the same genre everyone likes to complain about?
It’s honestly just okay content. Nothing amazing and nothing too bad either. My only issue is that it feels pointless to make any monuments or whatever they are. While those are cool they don’t really add anything important to the island or change anything.
I guess I could invite friends over to see where I placed my bathhouse but why even bother with that. Buildings that don’t provide any income should be more. A simple a buff or increase from them would be nice. Doesn’t even need to be that exactly, could be something as silly as unlocking unique gposes or emotes for your character interacting with the land mark. Literally anything than it existing.
