Island Sanctuary - "Popularity" change clarification/misleading?

One line says:

Popularity may change at the beginning of a new season, but it will remain constant throughout that season.

But then a following line says:

Furthermore, the popularity of handicrafts may change each cycle according to both commercial trends in Limsa Lominsa and the type/amount of items you sell from your island.

It doesn't make sense to say that the popularity may change with a NEW SEASON and NOT change throughout the season, to then say that it changes depending on "trends" and what you are creating EACH CYCLE.

The first line seems misleading if you can in fact manipulate the popularity within each cycle and it is in fact not going to remain constant each season. They contradict each other.

Yeah, since the cycle sentence is under the Supply section while the seasonal one is under Popularity, it definitely seems like the cyclical one is actually meant to refer to supply changing per cycle. It’s definitely confusing to have that typo in the help guide of all places. lol

Based on this line

Popularity may change at the beginning of a new season, but it will remain constant throughout that season.

I believed the popularity would be randomized every week.

To test this theory I placed my reset days on Monday and Tuesday, and took screenshots of the Supply & Demand dialog for both days. The result was that, without any player interference, there was no difference between Monday's "Predicted Demand" and Tuesday's "Popularity".

I recognize that the line says "may change" but I think it is far more likely that the sentence is supposed to read:

"Popularity may change at the beginning of a new cycle, but it will remain constant throughout that cycle."

I also I agree with Alleluia. I suspect that the second line zeth07 posted, the word "popularity" is supposed to be "supply".

I've been informed that I am probably incorrect in my theory that wording for the first quote should be "cycle" instead of season. Everyone I've talked to says the popularity does not shift over the week. I'll continued my analysis to confirm this. In which case the second quote is definitely mistranslated or incorrect in some form.
