Guild Wars 2 almost did exactly what you described (spider mount that could climb cliffs), but early during beta testing some people complained about being scared of spiders, so the mount was replaced with a giant bunny that could leap up cliffs.![]()

Never gonna happen, they changed Sage's icon due to trypophobia(it didn't trigger me at all, at least), there's no way they'll put a hairy ass giant spider mount when arachnophobia is so common.
You might get an Yarzon if you're lucky
Only if I am given a giant rock to smash your mount with
If you willingly want a giant hairy spider on your screen.. I don't think you have arachnophobia.
And as someone with arachnophobia, no thank you. I don't need 30 giant spiders sitting around the quest NPC I need to get to or lurking around corners in populated areas.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
we basically have it with the weapon minion. just make it real size and rideable and bingo.

I hate spiders, but if people want a spider mount there is no reason for them not to be able to get and use one.
I actually do. I can deal with tiny spider no smaller than a the hole of a sewing needle. Any bigger and I freak out internally. Took me till adult hood to finally grow a pair and start actually dealing with my phobia. While can't stand touching or killing them (cus its gross feeling or seeing them splattered), I at least can catch them and toss em outside or in a toilet to be flushed.
Video games, I stopped being overally scared of spiders on them after having to deal with them in Skyrim. Those f*ckers were creepy as hell! But after awhile of sniping them from a distance with my bow, I stopped being so scared of them and started enjoying taking them out from afar. Though eventually, I had to deal with them close range. Not a fun time, but that definitely helped me get over my fear of getting too close to them in video games.
So yeah. I basically learned to deal with my fear of spiders instead of letting them turn me into a 6 foot tall screeching man child. Again, they still freak me out, but I learned to deal with it and learned not to fear them in video games. It also especially helps in the latter to remind yourself that they aren't real and can't touch you. :3
