The same issue for me. Day 1 I maxed out my glamour dresser; game has been crashing on /isearch ever since.

I have no way to tell which item caused it, but I will be looking for potential duplicates to see if that creates the issue.

    Potential Fix Found

So, realized this got a bit dense with my debugging.. the TLDR is that this whole thing looks like it's being caused by the ITEMFDR.DAT in the character folder.

This can be temporarily fixed by deleting ITEMFDR.DAT from your character folder, but it has the side effect of also meaning /isearch won't be able to find anything, until you open all of your inventories (saddlebag, retainers, etc.), and forcing an update of that file. It's an indexing file that tracks the locations of your inventory items so /isearch works, and updates any time you move an item. If you delete it, the game will generate a new blank copy of the file when you login.

The problem with the glamour dresser is that opening and closing it also forces an update to the ITEMFDR.DAT file, and seems to be corrupting it if you have too many items stored in it. I took a look at the file in a text editor, and it's generally unreadable gibberish, but viewing it after opening and closing the glamour dresser looked like a much more disorderly sort of gibberish.

If you absolutely need to use /isearch for something, deleting the ITEMFDR.DAT file will let it work again, and then you need to open each retainer and storage location [b]except[/i] for the glamour dresser. Opening and closing the dresser will update the file in a way that causes the search function to crash the game.

I'm running into this issue as well across multiple installs on both PC (both a clean install and my existing install) and Mac (existing install only). /isearch is a command I frequently use and not being able to use it because of this crashing issue is unfortunate.

One more with this issue too. I sent in the in-game bug report too, but figure extra voices might help.

I just attempted this myself, opening everything including the glamour dresser still allowed me to /isearch. then i realized i had not opened the chocobo saddlebag. after i opened the saddlebag then the game started to crash.
i tested this in reverse, logging in and only opening my saddlebag (i could then search for an item) and then opening the glamour dresser (crashed searching for an item)

so data from the saddlebag or the glamour dresser may be corrupting data from the other inventory. i wonder if the affected people are those who have 2 saddlebag tabs and have a large amount of items in both it and the glamour dresser.

Replying to give you some information cause my husband and I reckon its either a specific item in the glamour dresser OR its just total items in ALL your inventories.

I currently have 720 items in my glamour dresser and I do not crash on /isearch

My husband however has 716 items and does crash, but he has maxed out retainers while I have 9 retainers with some of them just half full after the glamour dresser expansion.

Having this issue with item search too. I bought 3 new items off the market board to put in glamour dresser and item search afterward crashed my game. Deleting ITEMFDR.DAT did prevent /isearch from crashing my game. opened inventory, saddlebag, armoury Chest, armoire, glamour dresser, and 9 out my 10 retainers and did a few /isearch, worked fine. Opened 10th retainer and tried /isearch immediately after and game crashed. Counted up all my items. At 3201 items/stacks. I removed 2 items bringnig myself down to 3199. Item search worked fine with this.

My inventory count that crashes with /isearch:
    Inventory - 101
    Armoury - 269
    Soul Crystals - 23
    Saddlebag - 137
    Armoire - 324
    Dresser - 653
    R01 - 175
    R02 - 167
    R03 - 175
    R04 - 175
    R05 - 170
    R06 - 175
    R07 - 166
    R08 - 173
    R09 - 158
    R10 - 160
    ------------------
    Total: 3201 items

Exchanged 2 gear items for GC seals bringing my total item count down to 3199, no /isearch crash with this.
Split a crafting material into 2 stack, bringing total item count to 3200 itesm, game crashes
Re-combinied crafting material into 1 slot, bringing item count to 3199 game, no /isearch crash
Split different crafting item into 2 slots, bringing item count back to 3200, game crashes

TL;DR: Game crashes with item search if you have 3200 or more items (this count includes 324 armoire items and 23 soul crystals). You are safe if you have less than 3200 items.

My husband did a few more tests.

He has 3271 items, but clearing the itemfdr.dat and then not opening his glamour dresser (that has 604) items still allowed him to /isearch successfully.

Next test was opening just the Glamour Dresser, was able to /isearch

Next opening was the Glamour Dresser and Inventory, /isearch okay

Then opening Glamour Dresser, Inventory, and chocobo saddlebag caused the /isearch to crash.

Opening everything EXCEPT saddlebag = /isearch successful

so judging from this, its something for sure the interaction between the GLAMOUR DRESSER and the CHOCOBO SADDLEBAG.
