Hello SE representative, or people from the forum who have already lost hope that a post from us will reach one of them. All is well?
Before we start here, let's play a little? Look at this image here and tell me: what race is the character in question? Save your answer for last.

That said, what defines a new race for you? Well, I dare say that for many, a new race means two individuals who are differentiated through unique traits, whether by their ears, tails, skin, fur, etc. If not, what is the reason for creating new races? Isn't it easier for everyone to be something more human? Or Hyur, in the case...
And I already know what some who know me here on the forum are thinking "here comes the boring Viera who wants a hat. Look, he's going to talk about the new helmets." But yes, and no... It's not just about me.
What I've been seeing for a few years now is the complete lack of attention to racial traits in general. Think about the new helmets and notice: there are several of them that could easily pass the ears of a miqo'te, but they just disappeared. What makes it even worse is that this behavior can also be seen in mogstation items, and when it comes to money, I don't know about you, but I always want to spend it on quality items.
We now even have a new mode: Skills that fade with your racial traits, starring: Enshroud. Gosh, Square Enix, you're really trying hard. That "spare no expense" thing... wow.
Due to what SE said about the Hrothgars' ears (about being shocked at the public reaction), I have something to say to you, SE: Yes, a lot of people care about their ears, tails, horns... After all, what differentiates a Hyur from a viera, if not his ears? Emotes? Well, that's a bit irrelevant, or did someone here actually create their first character just for the emotes?
Everyone here has a reason to choose a race. Appearance is one of them, and I dare say it's the first thing that comes to mind when a player opens the character customization screen for the first time. It's kind of creepy that you (SE) have a game where people take customization so seriously, saying you're surprised the hrothgars don't like it that they're missing their ears. And you know what the worst part is? Is that the Hrothgar is the race that most differs from a Hyur in this game, even without ears they are still a big cat, but what about the rest? Why is it so common to remove the only traits that differentiate a Miqo'te from a Hyur? I've heard of gear that takes off their tails.
In an interview with Asmongold, Yoshi P criticized the developers, asking if any of them play their own games. Well Yoshi P, I don't know if this will ever reach your eyes, but I have a question for you: You play your games, but do you know your community?
