Island Sanctuary Unable to Gather Copper Ore

Area and coordinates: Unnamed Island > The Wilds X: 24.4 Y: 19.5 (and surrounding areas)
Steps: After progressing through Island Sanctuary, I have come to a point where I am in need of Copper Ore and am unable to gather it from any sources. I have the Islekeep's Stone Hammer in my Isleventory, but it seems like it does not work in this area? I am able to use it (it has the animation of using it, and gives the bonus items) in other areas of the map, but not where the Copper Ore is located. It does not work with other (Limestone) stones or crystal formations in this area either. The entire area of coverage where this bug occurs seems to be surrounding True Summit, Small Spring, and Sunrise Lookout.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I am able to gather from the nodes that give Copper Ore, but the animation is that of gathering by hand and I only ever receive Island Stones.

I found Island Copper Ore at Peak Point (X:31.8, Y:28.4, Z:0.8) in Bluish Rock. Have you tried there?

I'm in the same position. Need it for the mammet's tools, able to find where it is, but it refuses to use the hammer on it, only hand gathering which doesn't give the ore, only stone. I can't help but wonder if there's something we're missing in the process? But if that were the case, then why does it give limestone by the river, but not in the limestone rocks in the same area as the ores are found?

Nevermind. What I thought was copper wasn't. It's the bluish rocks.

You have to find the bluish rocks for Copper Ore and in specific places.

Oh and BTW - there's a reason you are picking up rocks versus hammering them with the ones you run into out there.
