    Thoughts on new Pandaemonium gear

    Dear Naoki Yoshida!

First of all, I want to thank you for this wonderful game, which brings me a lot of joy and supports me in difficult times. I have been playing various mmo for a very long time, since 2005. My longest time of playing was in wow and gw2, I spending hours there.

Why am I writing this. I want to write about my negative experience as a person who spends many hours in mmo. In particular, I want to write about effects. Effects of armor. This does not apply to weapons that sparkle delicately enough only in combat. I also will clarify that we are not talking about effects in raids or effects of character skills. In addition, here in FF14, we have an option to turn off some of the effects and it helps a lot, really.

New Pandaemonium gear is very beautiful, BUT. This does not apply to tank and dragoon/reaper armor effects. They really scared me because I've seen it once before and I know what it can lead to. Perhaps my message will seem too panicky, but believe me, I just know what I'm talking about.
I want to tell you about my 5 years experience of playing mmo, where there are a lot of similar effects on character gear. Effects that are displayed all the time.

In GW2, these are similar effects on armor. Similar effects in the form of infusions. Items that hang on the back. As a result - in raids, in metas in the open world, in fractals (dungeons), and just in the city, when people stand near an auction or a bank - it just burns out your eyes. A large crowd of people with bright shiny moving around them really reduces the quality of the viewer's vision. This is really bad for your health. This is tested not only on me, but also on many of my friends and acquaintances. It's not scary when you see it for 5-10 minutes. But when you look at all this splendor for hours... And it's everywhere... And you can't hide from it anywhere... At first, you don't notice anything special. Although some people wrote that they feel bad right away and their vestibular apparatus protests against all these moving bright sparkles. Аnd they are answered: "but this armor is so beautiful, these amazing shinies, this animation, we want more and more, give us more of these effects". And the developers brought us in gw2 more and more shiny. After all, they sold well. And I once adored these effects and didnt see anything wrong with them.

But over time, my vision gets worse. Headaches start when I enter in game. Eyes become red and watery.

For many years, part of gw2 community has been asking developers to add an option in settings for turn off all these gear effects. Nobody ever answered them.
And it's easier for you to close this game to save your health. And never login again.
A lot of people just left the game. And so am I. I was happy that in FF14 absolutely all effects are very delicate. Everything is in order with my eyes, my head has completely stopped hurting and my vision has partially improved.

When I saw reaper, dragoon and tank armors in preview today, I was shocked and now I'm sitting and trying to find words to warn where this may one day lead.
I have a feeling that there will be many people who will call me stupid, alarmist and write that the armor is very beautiful, and the effects on it are gorgeous and they want more of these effects on the armor... Oh, wait. Here we go again

Dear Naoki Yoshida! Please, can you make an option to disable this armor effects, before things go too far and until a flood of light from this shiny armor swallow us all.

This checkbox in options will bring joy to everyone without exception. And lovers of shinies, and people who feel bad from this spinning shinies behind their backs - everyone will be happy.
I will remain in the hope that I was able to give at least some arguments in favor of this option. Despite my poor english and despite the fact that at first glance it may seem unimportant and insignificant.

Check your Monitor, maybe it is to old and old Monitors hurts your Eyes pretty bad. They lead to red eyes, to pain, to blurry vision.

Someone call the Forum Police! Because I wrote passive aggressively that DT looks not good. Oh how right I was!

It's great looking gear but it is slightly over the top and therefor feels out of place.

However, I'm also not sure what changes I'd make to remove that feeling without gutting the cool looks.

Love the gear, but the day 1 novelty of the Fending / Maiming flame ring wears off and I WISH it was just some flames at the bottom of the cape or shoulders like any other job now... I really wish they could revise it.

I mean, it looks super cool for me. Only issue i have is the Striking set. All other classes have matching colour on the flames, but not the striking set. Minor thing for most, but i like my gear to be atleast somewhat same type/colour.
