    Aesthetical wishlist for 7.0

    So, there are many threads with complaints or wants for jobs, but disregarding mechanics, complexities (or lack of), or problems that we have nowadays, what are your wishes for the jobs that you play regarding theme/flavor?

    Not talking about full reworks that also come with thematic changes, but things that get added to complement your job fantasy, like how suddenly WHM's elemental magic evolved into glare/dia, or BLM started getting void-themed spells.

    For the jobs I currently play

    Dancer: I'd love to see the theme of fire explored somehow. We see a little nudge of it with Fan Dance IV's blue fire and the Dancer NPCs toying with fire effects (although cosmetic) during their quests.

    Summoner: The obvious path of adding Shiva, Ramuh and Leviathan as another set of gemstones unlocked with Phoenix.

    Black Mage: More thunder magic that isn't related to just a dot. Unlikely, but the resurgence of those discontinued BLM spells like Drain or other Final Fantasy status spells as - selfish - utility.

    White Mage: Unlikely, but a resurgence of elemental dps actions as big hitters, like Flood, Tornado or Quake.

    Red Mage: The ice (Verblizzard, verfreeze?) element incorporated somewhere.

    You're asking for something that already is going to happen eventually. What you should be asking for is SMN "quirks", like a 1% chance on any summon to summon King Mog in instances/raids (purely visual) or Odin in open world content where he would one shot enemy mobs or deal dark dmg to fate/hunt/quest mobs exclusively.

    A few just off the top of my head...

    Red Mage - I'd like a bit more swordplay, even if it's something as simple as a hard-hitting oGCD thrust with a long cooldown, or perhaps an action that unlocks after completing the melee combo but doesn't have to be used as part of the combo. For name and animation, this move could be called En-(element), maybe depending on which initial finisher you use in your combo. For example, if you cast Verholy, the action unlocks as Enlight, while if you cast Verflare, it unlocks as Enfire.

    White Mage -
    1. Change Cure I/II/III to Cure/Cura/Curaga, that book in Gubal Library be damned. Otherwise, at least make Cure II the AoE Cure spell and Cure III the higher-level single-target, to match the naming conventions for offensive spells.
    2. Dia, Glare (should be renamed as Banish), Holy, Assize, Afflatus Misery -- all great, but they don't form a cohesive and entertaining damage rotation. If SE is going to continue down the road of making tanks and healers DPS jobs with defense and healing oGCDs, healers should have more entertaining damage rotations. This is moving from aesthetics to actual mechanics, but still.

    Black Mage -
    1. Naming request above applies here as well, let's have Fire/Fira/Firaga/Firaja. Could also just use FFXI's naming system and let e.g. Fire be the single-target name and Firaga be AoE.
    2. Add spells for earth, water and wind. Perhaps earth and water could be incorporated into the Umbral phase, and wind incorporated into the Astral phase, maybe along with a direct damage thunder spell for symmetry. I don't know the best way to do this without massive button bloat.

    Summoner -
    1. As others have mentioned here and elsewhere, incorporate Leviathan/Shiva/Ramuh, probably as alternative gems unlocked by Phoenix. Alternatively, incorporate them as long-cooldown nukes or utility.
    2. It annoys me that on summoner, Energy Drain grants Aetherflow, while on scholar, Energy Drain spends Aetherflow. If they're going to keep Energy Drain and Aetherflow as mechanics for both jobs, they should rearrange one or the other so the same ability doesn't have opposite effects.

    Although I mentioned it's obvious, I feel like there's always a chance of it not happening, because in the end they're not obliged to cater to player expectations, hence why I keep wishing for the obvious path to come to fruition.

    For Black Mage, I would just like to see ultima in some form or another (whether it's the full thing or a demi-ultima). A demi-meteor spell would be pretty nice too. The Flare spell could get either a full or conditional upgrade to demi-meteor, and Despair could get a similar upgrade to either ultima or demi-ultima.

    As a Dancer, i think i would be happy with some armor made with my job in mind. Not Bard, Not Mech but Dancer for once.

    As much as I wrote the OP with job actions in mind... but you know, you're completely right. Most of the aiming items are either 'Marksman' or 'Commando' - Dancers get completely shafted, having to revisit the same items over and over. Not even mentioning when the Aiming group gets something that is unrealistic for all of them, like heavy armored ensembles.

    Chaotic Spring slight rework, less floating in the air and less chord sounds.
    Heavens' Thrust sound oomph update.
    Vorpal Thrust update.
    I rather they don't touch the other single target weaponskills and possibly ruin them, they already look extremely cool.
    The AoE ones though, I really hate how Coerthan Torment and Draconian Fury look so rectangly?, Doom Spike and Sonic Thrust look so good by comparison.
    I'm almost positive LC and or DS are gonna get cut or merged, whatever happens to that they need an update, I don't expect DS tether to ever come back, but maybe something that looks like blood of the dragon for the full buff duration?

    Noooo. I like it! Though I can see why some are annoyed by it.

    I never understood why the sound of HT was so dull.

    I wish the blue aura from BotD was there when you have 1 or more eyes. It should be simple to implement, like WAR or DRK glowing when they have Beast Gauge or Darkside up, and I'm pretty sure someone directly asked Yoshi-P to keep this in the past, before EW was released and the new job actions were shown.

    Piercing Talon needs an upgrade as well and I also wish our 5th positional became stronger and had a new animation but only in that position, the 4th would stay the same.

    Oh, and make Raiden Thrust and Draconian Fury a permanent upgrade. True Thrust and Doom Spike are imho outdated (and kinda ugly, less so for DoS I guess...) animations and you only mostly use them once per fight and downtime phase.
