Categorically untrue. The entire revival of FF14 from 1.0 into 2.0 and onward came about because of the relentless feedback that players gave to SE starting with 1.0 beta phase 1 on up until 2.0 was released. Tens of thousands of posts across thousands of threads worth of feedback.

As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. And if it doesn't then the whole damn thing breaks down.

Glad some people are still seeing the “light” in all this SAM/Kaiten constant spam madness which truly is far disruptive & obnoxious, often overflooding most of other DPS posts related as if in mere attempts to persistent call out SE or Yoshi.

People, the changes were long in effect..if you’re not pleased then don’t bother with the job altogether; simple.

No amount of constant pressure nor overflooding the DPS post will further convince them to revert it, moreso your condescending attitudes & just further setting the flames as usual.

Its time this charade ends once & for all….

It sucks that sam, one of the highest skill ceiling in shb, now is one of the easiest jobs in game. Losing looping (still there but required), losing kenki spenders, and management losing the significance of positionals, and needing to fix your loops were some of the most fun I've had in this game. I still like sam's aesthetics but I don't enjoy it as much as I did and I don't need to think anymore which sucks lol

The gauge hardly matters now. Without something to balance the spending, there is literally no point to keep track of it or to decide when to use.

Not to mention, tenka goken is still bad. Tiny potency boost, but it hasn't even been given the same kind of treatment as midare and ogi. Would like them to actually address the backlash that started pre-6.1 if they can make a statement about blm being overturned after some memes on social media, they should be able to say something about why the entire flow of our kit has been neutered so early into the xpac if they want to innovate 'later'.. why alter anything before that time?

SAM is indeed dead and the games almost completely to the point of being fully homogenized to the point where everything's the same.

From all the forum posts and feedback it's clear there's two camps of people in this:
    1) Those that hate the changes because it negatively impacts their enjoyment of the job to the point of dropping it all together (or the game like myself)
    and
    2) Those that don't mind the changes but were still playing and enjoying the job before the changes

In other words, if SAM was reverted to how it was in 6.08, the people in camp 2 would still play it.

It's been said before but I'll echo the sentiments again: this is surprisingly similar to what WoW did many years ago; they removed all the core identities of their classes and people got bored and jumped from class to class till eventually many players couldn't find something they enjoyed.

It's extra frustrating as the devs worked so hard to salvage XIV with ARR and worked so hard over so many years getting the game back to a really good place; but then they just drop the ball and get in the way of their own success.

From baffling gameplay changes, to homogenizing jobs, to reducing the amount of content we get per-patch, to increasing the wait time between patches, to not having enough server capacity for the thousands upon thousands upon thousands of new players that just want to try the damn game, to rushing the conclusion of the main story arc . . . it just all around feels like everything is going downhill.

Team 2 is extremely minor as well, and most only play sam very casually.

This job is definitely dead to me. I'm gonna join Ransu and retire my SAM jobstone in Kugane and play Black Mage for the first time. I almost let the deafening silence regarding our feedback over the course of 5 months ruin patch 6.2 for me, but I'll just try this job instead

I'm absolute garbage at Black Mage but this job is really fun and..guess what.. PUNISHING. Significantly more punishing than something like learning how to pool 20 kenki for Kaiten or having to walk out of a pack of mobs to cast a cone AOE.. And it's untouched? Wonder why.. But I'm not going to stop playing it and eat crayons while waiting for it to become braindead, I'm gonna learn it. Incredible how that works

Square inviting feedback to a forum they haven't responded to in 6 years, and people taking them seriously and not seeing the irony in it. Sad.
Saying this as someone who played AST before they tore it apart, and plays healers in general and watches SE make them dumber with each update. "We welcome feedback" is corporate lip service. If they actually bring back Kaiten because of some angry forum posts (when in game the job is currently blowing up because it's easy to play and top dps again, thus appealing to most of the game's players who just want to mash buttons and feel superior) then I'll eat my AST hat and proceed to blow up the healer forums with angry AST posts in the same way that SAM did to the DPS forum.
Good luck, but yeah. Maybe don't wait around for change. Sorry.

Still got fingers crossed they bring Kaiten back so I can enjoy Sam again.
