The way I understood it was that animals stop dropping loot once they are in a poor mood and crops stop growing when not watered. The guide doesn't mention them running away or dying.

For me is spawning them being a pain since some of them including alligator are not always guaranteed from what I have seen
I've even had a Yellow Coblyn not spawn, which was supposedly one of the animals believed to be exempt from that issue. The alligators are still much worse though. Thanks to showers being so rare, the next spawn is in 10 hours and after that a whopping 38. Might as well be an S rank.

RNG being RNG gave me the alligator on the first try.

Been enjoying the island as a casual thing, where I just do the bare minimum to keep progressing. Something to keep myself occupied with while waiting on people to get ready and such.
Though I wish that you could upgrade your tools to get more than one material, especially because of the awful RNG involved with the animal capturing. I've seen people do 36 attempts in a row on the same animal, only for it to disappear. That's 144 times gathering at a node, just to achieve nothing, so much time down the drain for an activity that isn't even very engaging to begin with.
Animal trapping aside, I really wish they would introduce some QoL to the island.
After you do the initial quests for the island, the duty just says "Create the perfect hideaway of your dreams", it would be really great if you could select crafts, buildings or renovations to track progress of. So I don't have to open my gathering log or go into the convoluted "manage hideout" menu, or the crafting menu just to check how many more materials I need to gather. I've started just taking a screenshot of what I need and having it on my secondary screen, purely so I don't have to keep double checking how much I need and what I needed.
It would also be great if you had a journal/log that kept track of the things you unlock per rank, because just having the unlocks appear in the chat window can be really easily missed, especially if that chat window is active with people talking. Maybe even a teaser for what the next rank will give you.
My final QoL change I would like to see, is that when you ask your mammets to take care of the crops or animals, please just let me tag all the animals or crops in one go...!
The whole process of clicking individually on each and every animal & crop is so tedious, that I can't be bothered making the mammets help me, and I'd rather just make the animals starve and the crops wither because of that.
Poor Lenny Krabitz. Being left to fend in a pen.
That's good to know at least. I'll give them SO many treats when I get back. ;_;
I used 15 traps last night trying to get the crab. I was cackling because it just kept dodging the nets somehow, until I finally caught it on my last one. Annoying as hell...but also somehow hilarious.

Surprised there isn't an achievement tied to catching all the rare spawns.
If I am disappointed at one thing with Island Sanctuary, it's that the releasing minions feature has no impact at all on things, and that they didn't make special groupings of minions do something special.

Yeah. The minions are apparently supposed to do stuff if left to their own devices if the description of this sub feature is any indication, but all they do is walk around and talk/make noises. That's hardly anything interesting. It's neat seeing them walk a few steps in random directions I guess...Surprised there isn't an achievement tied to catching all the rare spawns.
