The MCH change to Rook/Queen does help but it does nothing to help with the actual problems with the job that has brought up countless times on the forums & Reddit. Makes you wonder if feedback was listened to.
I'm going to be honest with you. I think button bloat in general is either a misnomer or not real. Not in FFXIV.
Saying this from the PoV of a keyboard player. Between all the re-binding I bet some people haven't done and the button combinations, it's so easy to get it all to fit in. Literally what class has too many buttons...? For a keyboard? A keyboard that can input ALT+ or Shift+, has F keys, and a myriad other things...? Not to mention mouse buttons, most mice coming with at least M1, M2, M3, M4, and M5.
The classes with the least buttons blow now too, like MCH.
So no change, huh ?
I kinda like the merge button though.
Having them on the same button caused way more issues than solutions in several situations. Double-weaving HJ + MD became as tight as before the animation lock reduction, thus being impossible unless your ping is good.
We're just at the perfect spot: after the animation lock changes but before the MD change.
If anything, ask the devs to give you an option to put them in the same button if you want, but this change is certainly positive.
I think the change is not a good change. Any skill that requires another skill to even activate it in the first place should not be wasting a keybind. Mirage Dive will be baked into another button sooner or later to make room for future new rotational buttons if they'd want to counterbalance the button bloat...
Once a great and wise friend of mine told me that "Hope" was a terrible plan as if hope fails, you have no backup plan.Even if currently the devs are not going in the right direction, because there is clearly a lack or a total absence of listening despite the feedback from the players around the world, I think we must always keep hope that they will reconsider their decisions, currently the melee dps are too strong, especially the ninja outdps everyone, the summoner is only a shadow of himself, the casters have a rather bad balance, and the machinists and sam can still have tears of salt, especially the machinist. :s
If it was just one thing I wouldn't mind too much but I believe Endwalker is just the worst expansion balancing wise.
It's good to have good faith and hope but it's been 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2 now. Machinist is still rotten bad. Black Mage is still getting favoritism. Melees get buff over buffs because they don't want a worst melee lol :<
My biggest gripe is how they decided to communicate about the reasoning behind the change. I initially thought Dragoon was the only one to change due to ""player feedback"" but I was wrong, Astrologian for example; "Based on player feedback, Minor Arcana will now change into the drawn arcanum rather than the action Crown Play-" but, they did give some reasoning "The effect duration of Redraw has also been adjusted, making it easier to acquire astrosigns."
Not the biggest fan of this brief explanations but at least there was some payoff.
Dragoons? "Based on player feedback, we have changed Mirage Dive so it no longer overwrites Jump or High Jump on the hotbar when under the effect of Dive Ready."
Me: Okay...Why?
Devs: Because...Player Feedback? They wanted it reverted
Me: Okay, Why?! That isn't an explanation! Tell us how their feedback convinced you it changed!
Devs: Player Feedback! That's the reason!
And here lies Samurai, with player feedback never seen before, completely ignored. My biggest gripe is how they decided to communicate about the reasoning behind the change. SE has always had that weird way of only listening to the feeback they wanted, and somehow it's never the right one.
I know it well, but endwalker has been a balancing mess since its release, they change their vision of a ''good balance'' with each extension, and they just don't listen to the players' opinion since endwalker's release,Once a great and wise friend of mine told me that "Hope" was a terrible plan as if hope fails, you have no backup plan.

the previous expansion the bard was the ugly duckling of the devs, except now it's the casters ''blm not included, machinist, and all complaints are totally ignored,
of course they don't listen the feedback from a lot of jobs and not only the jobs that I mentioned.
However the community managers do their jobs correctly by sending our feedback.
