Ninja at 66 feels more complex than Samurai at 90

Samurai literally feels no different at level 90 than it does at level 50, it's unintuitive, clunky, and just plain unfun to play these days. Roulettes still put me to sleep but at least Mudras give me the incentive to stay awake otherwise I can't do them.

You actually nailed the feeling for me. It's like a level 50 class. NIN at level 70 at least, is a richer experience than SAM by far. Learning the intricacies of lining up mug, the skill that lets you cast 3 ninjutsu (forgot name), Dream within a Dream, Mudra reset, and making it all work out and stand still at some point as if it were a caster is really satisfying. It requires execution, thought, adjustment. It's not brainless. That keeps being built upon later too, I've just got to level 80 on NIN and don't regret it one bit. Where as I have not played SAM at all after giving its disgraceful state a try.

Y'all really missed the mark with this one. For the record, I didn't even disagree that Kaiten shouldn't have been removed. In fact I've definitely said before I wanted Kaiten back as well, and 100% agree it adds to job feel and fantasy. In fact if they wanted to make iajutsu auto crit, they should've just attached it to Kaiten. It's countering the ridiculousness of OPs statement, which is hyperbolic and comes from a place of feelings about these changes. Saying things like "none of the changes benefit anyone" and "there's zero depth" surely isn't true, but again, all this vitriol because a job skill you liked is gone is exactly proving my point in the end.

Ofc, my comment wasn't even about Kaiten in the first place, it was about how you could have fun optimizing the Job even in its current state.

You do realize that all of the things you mentioned in defense of Samurai being 'deep' at level 90 are the same things they have to do at level 50, right? Hagakure isn't that deep, it's an ability you use to reset your Sen counter during desperation attacks or at the start of fights so you can essentially start your rotation from zero while not losing resources you've built up.

The idea that Samurai is 'deep' and complex without Kenki management is bogus, please don't dismiss my legitimate complaints and observations about the current state of Samurai as hyperbole and then sit there and act like the victim when people call you out on it.

I got yelled at a couple times for doing that (but i turn all effects off that arent mine, so it never really occurred to me I was doing it) lol
