CC Alt Manipulation Issues in Ranked

I would like to address the issue of Alts Manipulating CC Rankings. It didn't happen in Season 1 in this kind of large scale, but it becomes more normalized, and players not seeing an issue.

Even back in Feast days we would have had Alts in the Rankins, but it was only mostly around 2/3 Players or Players from other DC's. However now with CC and especially the rise of it in Season 2, it's concerning.

The main issue is a lot of Top 30 Players in current ranking, play 1 or more alts and get into the Top 100 Ranking. Which is in some ways ranking manipulations in their favor.

To Quote the ToS:

- ・Ranking manipulation (abuse) / Manipulating the outcome of a match
--> Refers to the act of improperly increasing a ranking, earning ranking points by informal agreement, or by using multiple accounts to manipulate ranks.

- By using a smurf character, they are unfairly manipulating the leaderboard in their favour (making it harder for others to climb/maintaining their own spot), they don't need to be actively throwing or anything but just the nature of a smurf alt negatively impacts the matchmaking balance and ruins the queue for everyone but them ergo it's abuse

- Misuse of bugs
--> "Misuse of bugs" refers to the deliberate exploitation of a fault/error in Final Fantasy XIV or manipulating a feature of Final Fantasy XIV so that it does not function as intended, in order to obtain personal gain or cause disadvantage to someone else.

- can also argue it's misuse of a bug, although i'd say it's more just an exploit/loophole. They are manipulating a feature of the game (the rating system/matchmaking for ranked) so that it doesn't function as intended (if they're 3k rated on their main that is there intended rating, alting puts them lower) in order to cause a disadvantage to literally everyone else trying to climb on their mains

As I can't speak for every DC, I am speaking of the issue at hand on Light DC currently.

There could be different kind of solutions, having it Account locked, meaning only 1 Character is able to actually be able to be in Ranked. Or Put a timer on CC ranked, so it's only available during certain Times, so Alt misuse would be less.


Example on Light :

Currently known are 6 Main Characters and 13 Alts, meaning 1 person has at least 2 alts.

I would like to discuss this issue, or if it's even considered an issue.

I am also making an inquiry to the GM's and see if it's truly against ToS or not.

It would be really nice if they did something about it, like only allowing one Character active in Crystal rank per Datacenter.

Even in S1 on Light there was like 25~ alts by the count of some known players in top 100. I haven't kept up with S2 so I have no idea how much it has shifted.

Hopefully the new rating system that counts your highest will encourage people playing on their main, but if it doesn't remove the alts then something should be done about them. This is slots away from other players on top of allowing them to mess with games due different ratings on their character. Having a 2k+ player on their fresh Crystal alt is going to heavily skew the matchmaking.

On top of everything some players seem to use their alts to target grief some players they don't like, while support is really slow about dealing with pvp related incidents. Not to mention all the people who get extra salty and start spamming the chat or mark other people are still playing. Nothing quite like zoning into a match and have 2 people spam target ignore on each other, emoting and spamming the chat commands.

It is way too easy to throw a match while looking like you are trying while playing. This combined with people using million alts the leaderboards are already a wasteland/dead
