Xenosys Vex, a FFXIV content creator for Raiding/Hot PvE balancing Takes, made a video on his take for 6.2 Cirt/DirectHit changes with good points currently heavily related to Warrior and Samurai.

10th Video pointing out where Samurai 6.1 changes were crap. However, when I joined FFXIV and looked at the stats it confused me since forever. Most MMO's simply stick to Crit Chance % and Crit Damage %, yet FFXIV has both fused into Critical Hit. Explained in the video, Direct Hit does indeed add more RNG then it honestly needs to.
Coupled with how FFXIV utilize the Critical Hit stat, raid buffs used by jobs with Auto Crit skills like Warrior and Samurai won't fully be able to make the best of it, creating Anti-Synergy. A huge flaw that SE made, that we only will see sooner or later if they address it properly with the upcoming 6.2.

The usual answer I get to this question = Spaghetti-Coding-limitations. It would probably fix a lot if they could, allowing more nuanced Raid and Personal buffs possibilities, they just can't. Or they won't because it destroys every calculation they done up until and it would require to much math for near no extra gain ( by gain I mean $$$ )
As for Auto-Crits being horrible? Yes they are.
At for least Warrior and Samurai. And there's honestly no end in sight of other jobs joining us either on that. Healers already are simplified and we see multiple jobs getting the same simplifying treatment with the " It's the Norm / Why Look surprised / You must be new / Good, about time you joined our suffering " motto/attitude, followed with feedback, complain, ignored and forget - move on and the game didn't really improve looking back to it.
Regardless of the upcoming changes, did Auto-Crit's fix anything? No. Does it answer DPS fluctuating less? Kinda, but that really matters mostly only for Parsing which is not an FFXIV problem, that's an FFLogs problem. Call me crazy, even with my crayons, I love playing FFXIV more then I do FFLogs. I just hope the changes will do something to improve our gameplay, like Party-Comp synergy rather then just giving us more damage for the sake of more damage... but that is just my simple take on it.
