Stable issues

Hello,

A friend has started the game for the first time. He wanted to play AST, so we got him the books to clear to heavensward (both levels and MSQ).

Once in game, we added him to FC and then we went to bentbranch and did the series of quests there related to the chocobo. However, he remains unable to add the bird to the stable. He keeps getting "not authorized" messages.

1) The FC allows stabling for all member levels
2) We completed "Bird in hand" for him
3) We unflagged the newbie status thinking maybe that might be related
4) I had him summon and unsummon his chocobo thinking it might be thinking he still had it out for some reason.

What else might I be missing? Why is he getting this authorized error trying to stable his chocobo?

I dont remember but I think new players recently added to an FC have to wait 30 days before they're allowed any kind of access to stuff.

You could give him 250k or whatever it is and have him buy an apartment and use the free stable there.

Make sure they have withdrawn their chocobo as a fighting companion. If it is out it won't let them put it in the stables. Maybe check in the FC settings for rank and permissions for the each rank. This must be set for each rank you have for members to stable their chocobo. Go to FC menu/rank, right click the rank and choose hierarchy settings. The message sounds like you don't have that permission active for your friends rank still. Check both stable and training other chocobos. It something small that being over looked. Good luck!

The 30 days thing is interesting. I wonder if it is cumulative game time if that is indeed a thing? He bought the game a year ago, joined the FC, and then didn't play at all. Just restarted the other day and I've been walking him through things.

As for all the other suggestions, those were all tried (see first message and list of things tried). It's been completely perplexing why he can't stable. Everything I know about what impacts stabling (FC restrictions, Companion summoned, or failed to do quest) have all been verified.
