The issue of the sub price in Ukraine

The general unpleasantness of some people in this thread aside...I don't think it's a bad idea on paper to lower the price of subscriptions depending on the location and the situation. I'm just not sure how they'd do that with something that is largely regional, or where they'd draw the line. It's definitely not a simple request.

I think a lot of people are a bit aggressive because they know how this goes and they're just tired. Not really an excuse but still.

Pausing housing demos for these things is fine, but going even further than that is a bit much. There's a lot of complications with currencies, lost profits, blaming and whatever else that's thrown into the mix. It's one of those things where life isn't fair and chances are you'll make things worse if you try to actually make it fair.

I also think some people are just bitter because truth be told, human suffering and awful life changing events occur constantly around the world, sometimes on a national scale but sometimes not so much. They feel bitter because people seem to pick and choose who to support.

Honestly, I don't really care what their reasons are. It's not that hard to show a least a modicum of empathy. As I said before though, the OP is not making a small request. There's a lot of factors to consider, and I fully understand that myself, which is why both sides have valid points. One is more hostile than the other, however, and that's not really okay.

Square simply can't shouldn't and won't lower anything cause if they did now, then you can best bet someone will say " You did it for them!!" And BOOM. Like if they listened to OP what about the people on the other side of the war? Do they get a discount too? You see where the issue is? It simply can't be done. Plus out of all things to be worried about, FFXIV is the last thing you should be worried about when your nearby homes and streets are being bombed and shot at on the daily.

That was a point I made in my original post in this thread. Where they would draw the line is a legitimate concern. My main issue isn't with the OP's request, or the counter points others are providing describing the reasons this shouldn't happen. Again, there are 2 sides to this, and neither are necessarily wrong in some ways. It's the people being complete and total jerks about it that I have a problem with. lol The hostility I've seen in this thread isn't necessary.
