Excessive amount of lv50/60 synced content is dragging down the skill level?

nah. back when 50-60 content was the only content we had we expected people to be competent.

the issue is the extended sprouthood and how quickly the game rushes you through older content now. you can get a job to 80 in a weekend and that's without even pulling an all-nighter. it's trivial to just buy a shb book and level at warp speed via roulettes alone using a healer and then as soon as you get high enough level-wise, grab one of the jobs/classes that start at a higher level and then rush to bozja immediately after -- although people who buy the level 80 book boost without ever having played the game before are just as infuriating.

despite all this i don't think there is really anything that can be done about it. if square doesn't make it easy to get through older content then people will either stop playing or rely on RMT to purchase already leveled characters.
