You can apparently lose your Tier-rank soon.

If i read that right in the current version of the patchnotes, you now drop down one tier if you are for instance platinum 0 and lose a match, back down to Gold 5.

I personally think it is a good change. Makes Tier-rewards feel more, you know, rewarding.

I am sure there will also be a lot of people who will be dissapointed by this since it will be much harder to climb Ranks and some may find themselves stuck in lower Tiers than before.

De-ranking will only affect Crystal and Diamond. For 6.2 you won't fall below Platinum.

Feast had the same reward system but if you demoted you only got the top 100 reward according to highest but the bracket reward was only given according to the current one. It is not known if this has been changed

The other change will have wider effect, those people in high ranks who can't find opponents are going to be allowed to wade down into bronze ranks and attack them to level up.

Because if you ever get in the top 30 you will notice that it's a gamble. Most games are decided by who gets the 0lp crystal terrorist. Meaning if these people downrank again because they had a lucky streak, the upper ranks can have more enjoyable games.
This is not a "muh rewards precious brah" change.

Because having rating be highest rating only encourages people to keep playing even though lose rating especially when people have very high ratings. Currently people get high rating and leave that character untouched for the whole season and then proceed to make alts and then play "stress free" ruining matchmaking for weeks on end being on a low ranked alt Some people have more 3 alts and some mischievous people even use them to ruin other competitions climbs/ruin matches for people they don't like.

Being able to derank out of crystal means hopefully better crystal ranked matches. Currently you can't fall below crystal 0 so you get a lot of people using it as a no-stakes casual mode instead.

It also makes win trading slightly harder because you can't park an alt at crystal 0 and feed unlimited wins to another player without leaving the matching pool. If you throw matches you'll eventually derank and be forced to grind back to crystal again.

No i never reached top 30, at least not on season ending. Highest i ever got was 69 on Season ending and i was extremely happy with that. Mid season highest i had was Rank 2.

Looking at it like that makes it a little bit better. I myself had to suffer under 1death-throwers or just general trolls and wintraders.
