This logic functioned at first, but doesn't anymore for one big reason:

One of those twelve is accounted for, as the Watcher.

Not to mention their souls are literally gone, used as fuel for the Creation of Hydaelyn as was once again clarified by the recently released short story. I do believe Venat was fond of the man the Watcher was despite his likely thinking that she considered him below her station, and so was he made into an exception of sorts.

Also, as much as I'm a known Ancient fan on this forum I am personally of the opinion (or rather, it is my hope) that the Twelve pre-date the Ancients as a civilization. There's evidence to suggest this is the case (such as the Ktisis weaponry having imagery of the Twelve's sigilry upon them), and frankly I just think it'd be neat. The Ancients as a civilization may have come afore the Sundered, however we have no evidence to suggest they are the first denizens to grace the Star entirely. I think there is value in exploring what may have come before even the mighty and terrible Ancients themselves. I suppose I'm like Y'shtola and G'raha in that way, archeology and knowledge is fun!

its been confirmed that since there were a lot fewer summoners compared to zodiark they had to be consumed entirely so like hydaelyn they cease to exist.
