It may be premature to assume that we won't have some type of personalized teleportation option for our Islands- so in the beginning, it makes sense to have NPC travel- which is how everything in this game really starts out with; some device or NPC we have to interact with to discover the place for the first time.

a weird teleport from... Lower La Noscea? Why? Why not Thavnair or another EW area? Would be cool to drop from the moon.

It's from lower La Noscea (presumably from the ports at Moraby or Candlekeep Quay) because the island is in the Cieldalaes, which is the island chain south of La Noscea. So you're catching the boat from the closest point on land.

Also, while you can't have your own personal island until later, you can start visiting other people's islands once you clear ARR so it needs to be accessible from there.

Agreed. I do hope it is an option in the future. Also, your journey to all fish is fascinating to me.

Me wanting what is by now considered the standard for teleporting to one's "home" to be applied equally and fairly is not "lazy." I refuse to let the standards slip. It is 100% in the player's interest for there to be teleportation access to the island from the beginning.

This island is not a "home".

It's gatekept by EW and if you are idle for 30 minutes and you are kicked out.
