I'm still trying to figure out why Glasses aren't just put in the earring slot so people can wear both.Patiently waiting for the far eastern schoolboy hat to become gender neutral. It's a hat with glasses; I have no idea why that's still gender segregated to males only while guys are able to run around in skirts and dresses with no problem. I don't have an issue with crossdressers, but like, come on man. Let me wear the damn hat. "Boys only" while the boys are running around in maid frills
I'm not knowing much about these Island Sanctuary things, but, seems like a huge missed opportunity to not have them available early to draw new players in. Would've been great to tell a friend, who loves minions, they'd have a place to let many of them roam free... but they're still slowly making their way through ARR...
I'm hoping the Coffer Manifest feature will also apply to PLD sword/shield combo items... Ever since everything was combined, I've completely abandoned trying to see if there's any glams I want to craft, because you can't try anything on from the crafting menu.
In the case of FFXIV, I feel this will be okay, because there's already a ton of content available to people just starting out. And I haven't seen this confirmed, but it sounds like people can start at least visiting other players' Island Sanctuaries as soon as they finish ARR, giving them something else to look forward to down the line.I'm not knowing much about these Island Sanctuary things, but, seems like a huge missed opportunity to not have them available early to draw new players in. How much of that content appeals to minion collectors? In the case of FFXIV, I feel this will be okay, because there's already a ton of content available to people just starting out. Gonna disagree with your opinion here. Island Sanctuary seems like it represents a different style of content that otherwise isn't available early on, making it something that has a far greater chance of attracting players that are otherwise not interested in many other branches of content.
I ain't saying make it available at level 10. But 90 is excessive.
Guess I'll keep waiting for the Valentiones set being gender neutral![]()
At long last the Far Eastern Officer's Uniform is mine!!!! Just need the Eastern Lord Errant's Attire and that stellar Valentine's day vest that male characters got a few years ago and I'll be set for all the outfits I've wanted to be unlocked.
"Here you may access the orchestrion to play your favorite tunes"
Can we set up an automatic playlist like we can in our apartment, or is it just like the inn-room one that nobody uses because manually selecting a track every time is annoying?
Then we shall have to agree to disagree on the matter. I do not consider the recent hairstyle additions in FFXIV of the quality appropriate for 2022, and I do not consider especially the male ponytail to have sufficient texture quality compared to the female variant. The hairstyles you have listed are either racially exclusive, released in 2013, styled in stiff or unnatural ways, or in the case of the Hime cut you have posted not used by the playerbase at large due to issues with its design, specifically with how it looks from the back.
Speaking of how hairs look from the back, this the quality that is able to be achieved when the fear of clipping is overcome. I would much sooner dress my female characters in clothes that avoid clipping than be forced to have hairstyles that are gender neutral and generic, for lack of a better term. FFXIV needs to step it up in this regard, the sooner the better. The standards for character customization in this game must be held up if not raised further. Once more, accepting the status quo is not to FFXIV's benefit while other games far exceed these restrictions.
Identify what is causing the limitations, and overcome it. Whether that is resources being taken up by other projects, rearranging the list of priorities, or fundamental flaws at the design/modelling stage. Even WoW offers more unique and fantastical hairstyles for both genders of their races than FFXIV does. 50+ short to mid-length hairstyles that don't match with the fantasy of either gender simply doesn't help matters much. Of these more recent releases, aside from the Adventurer hair and Form and Function I cannot think of any that the playerbase would be quite upset to see exchanged for something of higher quality.

That's fine. That's your opinion. The question was do we have similar hairstyles already and we do. And most of those aren't racially exclusive. I popped over to my lala alt and found almost all them minus whatever I didn't have books for and maybe one other. The hairstyles you posted reminded me of that "Can I copy your homework" meme. They might have texture quality but they feel very flat and feel like they lack any sense of individuality to me. Only the 5th one seems to display any sense of variety and one thing we can say about XIV's hairstyles is that they don't lack in variety. It's not always variety to my personal tastes, but it is wide and varied. You have a point on clipping, but if your idea is the "standards" need to be boring and samey hairstyles, then I'd stand in complete opposition to that. Has nothing to do with status quo and has everything to do with individual taste. Then we shall have to agree to disagree on the matter.
