I am concerned for the longevity and long-term interest in this content.

Tell ya what, why dont you wait till maybe January next year, then we will see? Of course, you wont be asking anyone other than your own tiny group of people and then extrapolating that to the entire playerbase...as usual.

And you will be wrong.

Because this is what this is all about, claiming that you have the moral high ground by being objective, but in the same breath you make completely baseless claims with only the same kind of anecdotal evidence the other side uses. (and having no idea how much of an hypocrite this makes you)
Why does all discussion here have to devolve into this? Just endless petty wars over whichever sides gets the more votes instead of trying to argue if the idea itself has any merits?

A mix of two things:

1.) Numerous actual polls on various social media and by SE garnering immensely more votes than the people we see on these forums. It was hilarious watching the absolute "shock" of certain people a few weeks ago on here when it was revealed the Scions are actually very popular. The one from last week showing EW is the 2nd most popular expansion is up there, too. Or the one from a while back showing how much of a fanbase Minifilia has.

2.) Practically every other site on the internet. Check around YT and look up videos on practically anything about EW - the story, the soundtrack, etc.. Here, you'll see the same dozen or so names popping up over and over again complaining. There, you'll see hundreds of _different_ people overwhelmingly praising the game. Or heck, even Reddit - usually a cesspool of negativity - is far and away very positive about the game and EW in particular. And once again, the unique voices you'll see there dwarf anything you see here.

The "side that gets more votes" matters when something is lopsided, because it would be a horrible business decision to risk alienating the large majority of your playerbase just to satisfy the never-satisfied whims of a small group of people posting 24/7 on the forums.

Good point. Then i have question: What is Island Sanctuary and what purpose/feature is entailed? Its not housing, its not an quest filled area, its not gardening in the sense of build or create something of value. So what is it ? Its disconnected from the rest of the game for what purpose ? This smells like SE does something the players wanted but in all the wrong directions or not ?

You can teleport to the Aetheryte thats next to the NPC thats it, no direct tele.

It's not any worse than what already exists for Eureka or Bozja. If the NPC at the Moraby aetheryte sends you straight there, it's less convoluted than those other destinations.

Just because older content also lacks what are considered basic quality of life features doesn't mean that it is ok for newer content to release without them. I have yet to see a reasonable argument for why we shouldn't be able to directly teleport to the island besides making the player "earn" a feature that is baseline nearly everywhere else.

Back in the day you had to "earn" the ability to use mounts behind an annoying seal grind but they did away with that later on because it was clear that locking that kind of stuff behind grinds or in this case timers isn't a good idea.

Push the bar of quality higher.

They gonna unlock the gender restriction on some of the Mogstation gear and I love it

but unrestricting gear is "complicated"......hell.... or the excuse for making headgear for vieras or hrothgars is because of "clipping" issues lol...big lol
