Thread: 6.2 Patch Notes

Not sure but FF14 is not that good. Its okay, mediocore in many aspects some even lower and some very few are really good. And lets be honest glamour, hair and the like are the LOW POINT in FF14.... *cogh* housing. Its there but made by the intern with no budget, so they could say "look we have it". In my opinion, these parts need some love.. very badly. Also every time they introduce something new or a change, its so complicated and confusing that i am very sure they use Bahamut to heat water they get from shiva to make some simple tea. Sure its working but is it really the way you should do it ?

Speaking to people in and out of game? Most people that I interact with regularly aren't all that excited about this. As I have just said, this is store gear that not a lot of people use. This isn't an issue of self-expression or anything of the sort like how others tried to frame this - people are largely not interested in these gear pieces to begin with so I struggle to see why they warrant the time to go in and remove the gender lock by making new 3d models when that time is better spent elsewhere.

I have no interest in discussing whether or not you like the way I voice myself in general, and focusing on that contributes nothing of value to the discussion.

I have never been against creating a better starting experience by either updating ARR or by offering alternate starting points, so I am not sure where you pulled that from. I've been playing this game since 2013 and of all store gear that I see people use, I see eastern gear being used the least. The interest is not there. This is not something like the Butler outfit or the Gold Saucer gear, which arguably misinterpreted what players were asking for in the male variant.

In any case I am of the opinion that they should not have implemented Hrothgar in their original launch state and that players wanting a fully-fledged beast race would have been served by one with a better, less restrictive design. The amount of controversies surrounding both them and Viera is something that wasn't worth it. They should have picked one race, done it well, and left it at that. The fact that they are only getting their ears back this patch and not receiving new hairstyles is disappointing, and I struggle to understand the numerous decisions that have led to them being in the state that they are in 2022.

There isn't a point in me continuing to engage with you and others if you are just going to focus in on the way that I phrase things. I want this game to improve, and we clearly fundamentally disagree on how it can best accomplish that. To each their own. I will continue to comment on the situation as I see fit, but there is nothing to be gained from this back and forth.

Hate to be the one to tell you this, but there are other servers and datacentres that you havent been to, so you have no idea what they do or dont use.

I only wish that they had integrated the longstanding feedback of players wanting to be able to have instanced housing and accommodated that desire by letting them use exterior housing items and customizable biomes. From having to port to Lower La Noscea to then talk to an NPC to get to it to then having everything on the island locked behind timers and mechanics that remind me of when I played Dragon Vale a decade ago, I am concerned for the longevity and long-term interest in this content.
