The Rising Event 2022 (New Minion)

I mean as a level 15 sprout this is literally a minion based on the emperor of a nation you'd know as a nothing more than an enemy. Would probably be more awkward than spoilery to someone who does not know.

Honestly its probably way more awkward for the people living in Eorzea. They would just look at the minion and ask why the Garlean Emperor was given out, when he was the one that started all these wars. After all they have no idea who he really is and even then I doubt they would see him in a good light.

We do have dozens of Garlean mammets running around Eorzea, mostly windup versions of the weapons used to slaughter Eorzeans, in equally in-universe poor taste, and we have plenty of other villains like Kefka who destroyed worlds but have a sympathetic backstory excuse (and unlike Emet I find actually entertaining and funny). So it's a reward that they can toss up onto the cash shop in a year, and one that a lot of other fans are happy to get. The cynical part of me says that cash shop reason is why he's an event reward instead of Bi-Color Gems. Brave New Yshtola with her sorcerous look was more a real spoiler, I think.

Although, tbf, I tend to think all the NPC minions are a little....weird. They're not usually something I ever use, but will make an exception for Emet. :3 I wonder if the NPC minions will be able to be set free in Island Sanctuary. Could have a whole party.

He looks great! Kinda surpised this is the first minion we are getting with him... would love to see him interact with say the Venat one, perhaps running away from her or sighing the moment she appeared. (Do we have a Hythlodaeus one yet? Another good one for him to interact with)

No Hythlodaeus one yet. I hope we get one of him, Hermes, Eric and Themis one day.

Also he's cute and if you think he's ugly then you're confusing it with his grumpy look. And if somehow you still think he's ugly whilst knowing that he's supposed to be looking grumpy then um you can either just not do the event. Or do the event but not drag him to enjoy the swing set in what's left of the park named after him. I do wonder what the little description about why there's a minion of him will be.
