A Taste of Honey is Not OKay

The mandatory Shadowbringers main scenario quest A Taste of Honey requires, as a gag, for your character, which is often a self-insert, to dance on stage with enslaved pole dancers for the pleasure of a pervert below.

This should not be in the game in my opinion, and I do not believe that anything of value would be lost if it was simply removed. Being comfortable with doing this should not be a roadblock for continuing to progress through the game.

Huh? I did a quest and the dancers were trying to get together to make the place better and bring in new people...willingly...and behind the owners back. Doesn't sound much like slave behavior to me.

In Eulmore, at least at the point in the story I am in, they are "bonded citizens" AKA slaves to either Vauthry or the free citizens. They have to do that to survive. And regardless it was inappropriate to put the player in that position.

"Bonded" means someone else sponsored their citizenship, usually for a useful skill, and they willingly took up a service contract. Later quests and sidequests make it clearer that they can, in fact, leave whenever they want. They don't often do so, because they're living on a dying world and there isn't too much else to do, but they can.

They can try to rehab this if they want, but they introduced us to the concept of when someone couldnt fufill their job as a bonded citizen that they were thrown out the window. The servitude being coerced in exchange for food and housing doesn't make it any less slavery.

Additionally, this is away from the main point of the thread. The point is that it is MANDATORY for a player to do this.

So? Many of us know what that can be like and don't want to be FORCED to do it in the game if we want to progress with the story. Additionally in the context of the story it is just us doing it to get some tidbit of info from a random citizen. It doesn't serve a purpose in the story and could have easily been done away with.

He's one of the main villains of Shadowbringers. And that's not even close to the worst thing he'll do.

Suffice it to say, he's not representative of everyone else up there.

Let me tell you about this thing called "capitalism"......

The story recognizing it is bad is not really relevant. the writers have forced us to comply. Im not arguing that its bad that this happens to people in the story, Im arguing its wrong that the PLAYER should be forced to do this to their character.

That's a whole other argument, but I think we can agree that in this instance it is slavery as they are not working for wages, they are given basic living in exchange for being property of an owner.
