The thing is Viera can fit into the game very well, yes I have made a few jokes about their sluttyness, but they don't have to make them like that, I feel they will fit into the black shroud very well paticurlaly as beastmen, and it could show some really good lore, because the Viera in Ivalice are said to beable to hear the forest, what is the Black shroud trying to say?

Also what if Viera are enemies of Gridania and think the city states want to destroy the forest it could end up with a really good story.

Eh - why do we need a new race? Nobody needs it and its too much work for the devs.
If they implement female Viera, they have to implement male too.

More variety with the races we have would be perfect for me.

I think a lot of people hoping for more fuzzy critters are going to be in a world for disappointment whenever they get around to adding new races. For all we know, "mammalian demi-beastman" is going to end up being a race of fat hedgehog people. IF they even decide to go with mammalian demi-beastmen as their pick for the eventual new race.

my vote goes toward fat hedgehog people. i can imagine that would be one strange looking race..

Viera are Miqo'te with longer ears and no tails - no thanks.

Alot of people voting for this seem more concerned with satisfying their fetishes or creating their deviantart fanfic than thinking about what actually fits in FFXIV. The idea of a new race/demi-race seems completely unnecessary, they should focus on other aspects of the game

Well you know I posted why a Viera type race could fit into Eorzea a bit ago that everyone is ignoring, they will fit into the black shroud very well, and with their xenophobic nature they can also add a different beastmen clan.

Viera could hear the forest, and they could make a lot of lore based on what we have now, and not to mention a hidden Viera home in the black shroud, that we cannot see nor access until SE choses otherwise.

Indeed I would not mind something similar to the Viera as a new beastmen(beastwomen?) race. Being an NPC only race, the devs could spend less than 1/8 of the time making a few character models and a few clothes models for them, instead of having to go the full distance and redesign all the player gear that exists to fit their proportions. They could also keep them female-only with few complaints.
