A Spectacle for the Ages Solo Duty

    Steps:

    1. Enter Solo Duty in A Spectacle for the Ages
    2. Beat Raubahn to 0HP while he's casting Immortal Flame
    3. Raubahn still launches Immortal Flame, wiping your HPs
    4. Raubahn tells you win and you can get the points to win the Duty, so basically you won the duty
    5. Back to game, the duty is considered failed

The most logical way to fix this would be to stop and win the duty as soon as Raubahn is beaten.

It's common in many duties and even dungeons and raids that if you take an enemy to 0%, they remain alive until their cast is finished, so if they are casting something it's wise to still do the mechanic.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

Without even talking about generic game mechanisms, in this one Raubahn clearly says that you won, which is totally confusing, and I'm not even sure I saw the "Duty failed" message (the log didn't show it at least). Since I don't know if/how I can replay this part I cannot be sure of this last part since I was focused on Raubahn. I only know I was told I won and then I was back with the only choice to start the duty once again.

Now if we're talking generic game mechanisms IMO this is not logical not even fair to the player(s) but that's another story. I'm a total newcomer to FFXIV and MMOs in general and I could send dozens of small feature suggestions to improve the game/UI for first time players and in general but I don't know how and if it's worth my time.

Whether or not it's worth your time is up to you. Personal time means different things to different people. One thing to keep in mind is that it will take a long time for you to see any of your suggestions come to fruition. So, if you are content to suggest on a regular basis, but only see changes you requested/suggested either rarely, or never, then suggesting things is for you. But, for example, if you're expecting to suggest something on a Monday, and see that change on a Friday, maybe suggesting isn't for you.

But either way, here's some advice:

    - Think about whether what you're asking for is a suggestion or a bug report, and then make those suggestions or reports in the appropriate forums. Both are generally one-way communication, and you should not expect direct, personal answers or communication from either (though on a rare occasion, this may happen). For example, this thread here, it's just going to get moved into the abyss of "Not a Bug Report", which means that shortly, virtually no one will see it, and no one but staff will be able to reply to it.

    - Research what you are asking for first, whether its a bug or a suggestion. Bugs may have been solved via workarounds, or perhaps what you're reporting isn't actually a bug (you said yourself you're new to FFXIV and MMOs in general; there may be things that appear as bugs that aren't, or your suggestion may already be possible.) Suggestions and bugs may have a central request thread that you could add your voice to, or perhaps after researching you'd even have a different opinion on what you're suggesting.

If you cycle through these things a few times and feel you've been productive, then suggestions and reports are for you. If you simply feel frustrated or that you're doing "work for nothing" or similar feelings, then reporting and suggesting isn't for you.

Other in-game bugs you'd like to report go here, in the In-Game Bug forum.

People use the "Companion App / Website Suggestions" forum for game suggestions, though it's not really for that:

    Good luck!
