The lag in frontlines is terrible since the new update

I never used to lag in frontlines before the pvp revamp, but the changes did something. As soon as there's more then 4 characters on the screen at a time, the system just goes belly up. This is while having an otherwise excellent connection and no problems in anything else -- not dungeons, not crystalline conflict, not even alliance raids. There's something about FL that's making the spaghetti code get even more tangled.

Noticed it too, one game can be perfectly fine, other game is nothing but a slidefest, with first couple minutes half enemy team being invisible, I dunno if maybe there's east and westcoast servers or something and it's pure rng which one you get connected to? Or just a server that's just really bad and another being fine.

I notice that sometimes early on in Frontlines, I get major lag and the player animations are not loading in. That never happened to me before.

Good to see I'm not alone! But AFAIK all the NA servers are on the west coast.. even though the character login screen tells me it's excellent, it's definitely a slidefest with invisible enemies in the beginning of a match. Eventually it might even out but it seems like having more than maybe six or eight characters on screen at a time really mucks things up. I also have effects turned off but that's more for my sight than anything else!

I've been having this in and out of pvp as well sometimes.
Either delays or becomes a powerpoint slideshow.

The lag is even more brutal to the point where it's almost unplayable, I get invisible enmies and delayed spell casts ever since DT realse. It's freaking awful.

I had this problem about 6 months ago. The first FL match of the day sometimes even I would disappear, and while I'm told I'm not very good at FL, this made me worse.

Then that PC died and I got a new one with a larger drive and decent GeForce graphics card and the problem went away. The only time I have any issues is when my upload speed goes to hell, which is fixed by a modem reboot.

Bottom line, I suspect 72 players in an instance is one of the most demanding bits of content on PC specs.

    Vive la résistance!

Finalement, Boucles d'or goûta le porridge dans le bol de Bébé Ours. "Miam Miam, ce porridge est parfait!" dit-elle, et elle mangea le bol entier de porridge.

Somehow other games like Aion are able to handles sieges with hundreds of players on-screen at once. It did happen years ago that I had issues when I think we exceeded something like 600 or so players in one location, with all of their battle effects, but in years of playing, in any game, I have never experienced dying due to invisible enemies at the beginning of a match when there are only around 30 or so players as I do once in a while here. Not in GW2, not even SWTOR , even then we would get a slideshow years ago, but at least I could see my enemies. This is the worst I've seen when it does occur.

And now with the graphics update, it's even more demanding. If there were only 24 players (Like in an Alliance Raid, or how it used to be in Frontline) it'd be fine.
