then the development team needs to stop role-locking gear for glamour purposes.
I understand the need to role-lock for equipping for combat. It makes it more likely that players joining a party will have appropriate gear for their job equipped.
I'm fine with leaving job artifact gear and weapons locked for those who like to have something they can associated with job identity.
It makes no sense to role-lock for glamour when I can tank while visually naked except for undergarments and weapon (unless I'm a monk, in which case even the weapon can be hidden).
It makes no sense to role-lock role gear for glamour when the gear models are frequently shared between roles. Fending and Maiming have been the same on many occasions. Casting and Healing are usually the same. Accessories are the same across all roles frequently.
How many of us have multiple copies of the same gear model in our glamour dressers because we want to be able to use the model for glamour across multiple roles but we have to deal with the role-lock?
If role gear was not role-locked for glamour, or cosmetic versions that can be used on any class/job made available, we could reduce the number of items we want to store.

Just to demonstrate the silliness of role-locking gear for glamour for reasons like "a tank should look like a tank, not a healer", I propose that everyone create an Emperor's New Clothes glamour set and use it Sept. 2nd through Sept. 5th (Labor Day weekend for those of us in the US). Use it for raids. Use it for roulettes. Use it for FATEs and hunts. Use it for Gold Saucer. Use it all day, every day that weekend.
(edit: if nothing but the Emperor's New glamour items makes you feel uncomfortable, feel free to substitute your favorite swimsuit)
If the devs are asking for our cooperation when it comes to inventory management, then show we'd like them to cooperate with us when it comes to space efficient glamour options.
