    Post your ideas!

    Ive been looking at other mmorpgs, mainly GW2, and I found that FF14 really is missing quite a bit regarding immersion. I would love to talk about gameplay aswell, but I only play DRG.... so yeah. Anyhow put your ideas in here and see if Square Enix will read it. Remember to have an open mind and not immediately disregard someone elses idea. (mine you can go full berserk).

    Short Summary of what I think would benefit the game immensely, a proper explanation is given down below.

    For cities:
    1. Ditch the 2 new cities per expansion and make 1 big extreme looking city, can be gorgeous or war like city. [ensure that people can have a nice view]
    2. Increase the max count of the new city
    3. Bring in PvP vendors to the new Big HUB
    4. Put dummies in gaurd HQ for players to try their dps
    5. Put a small area where people can duel eachother
    6. Put a small area where it is free for all
    7. Another Palace of the dead/HOH qeue place
    8. Multiple jumping puzzles
    9. Big fun fate near edge of the city, which rewards some gil, not too much but also not to low.
    10. NPC which automatically shouts (also in sound) any spawned S rank hunts
    11. More NPC doing their shores in the city like gossipping (in sound)
    12. Copy the way GW2 handles city vibe where you hear the sounds of a vibrant city instead of a quiet one.
    13. chatboxes above our head (everyone talks about it)

    For outside world
    1. Go nuts with the zones, big and extreme.
    2. Ensure that it takes 15 min to walk from one side to the other side
    3. More taxi points
    4. Underwater combat
    5. Underwater fates + World bosses
    6. Better rewards from world bosses
    7. Crazier and bigger world bosses

    Explanation time:

    Immersion:

    So for quite some time Ive been continuesly thinking what FF14 is missing and it finally popped when I saw the concept arts of ff14. Take a look at Radzat han hub and compare it with the ingame model. Yeah its..... disappointing. Furthermore I dont know why SE would split the playerbase between 2 hubs and taking away the vibrant feeling of a city througout the expansion. Which is why I thought its easier to develop 1 big extreme looking city with all its splendor and glory. The city will have it all in a big space and most importantly the city WILL LOOK like one. Im sure the PS4 will be able to handle it so what is stopping them? What is more important that everytime I show the game to my friends they laugh at how the environment and cities look, which is one of the reason they wont even try it (5 idiots). But imagine showing your friends something that resembles closely to the concept art or at least 70%, it would convince them. Right now if we would compare the concept art with the ingame version, it would be more like 20%. They liked the radzat han concept art but looking at the ingame city just discouraged them.

    Getting players in one hub:

    I think that many players are scattered around unnecessary, most of them stand at the NPC palace of the dead or something else. So thought what could bring people to one hub. Well, dummies/token exchange/awesome city/ over the top large fate / pvp zones, basically everything that you need. This ensures that the city stays vibrant for a long time.

    Outside World

    Looking at the concept art and GW2 I found that the ingame version is basically a butchered version of it, which I understood during the PS3 times. However, the PS4 can handle much more than the PS3 so why hasnt SE made the ingame world look more like 60-70% ish of the concept art, now its more like 20%. Imagine going around and just being in awe. Ultima tul was just "oh this looks nice". Following the concept art will make it much easier for us to show our friends that the game is worth the try. Also a big zone gives you much and much more option to do something crazy, like a humongous fortress which you need to take down or a big labrynth where secrets are hidden or like a grand canyon full of void creatures.

    SE travel around the world and look how massive the world wonders are, how massive human medieval structures are and go nuts. Dont play on safe, you got a new influx of players and you have to keep inventing the wheel, dont be like blizzard.


    Well guys go ham on my ideas and definitely put up your own! We have to let SE know that it can be better.

    From someone who also played GW2: Heart of Thorns before the new expansion or whatever, I’d love to see huge fken world bosses like The Shatterer(my all time fave world dragon boss event!), Claw of Jormag ice dragon, Tequatl the Sunless dragon, etc with their own mechanics that you have to do/avoid like in gw2. The current “world” bosses in 14 isnt all that exciting. I find it boring af (maybe thats just me lol), spawn timers for world bosses events, etc etc

    I somehow found him when I played it and lets just say I got tired of dying :P (Claw of Jormag). Its exactly these kind of world bosses that final fantasy is missing, the environment of the world bosses and how these bosses show themself.

    not to be accused *yet again* of gatekeeping, but if you want to play GW2 then just play GW2.

    there are technical reasons why there is a split of Thavnair/Sharlayan, just as there was a split of Kholusia/Ahm Areng, etc.

    an NPC giving out S rank information makes it too easy.

    PVP functions can't co-exist in a PVE zone. that's why it's separate.

    Gw2 has better zones, just look at the zones. They look more fantasy and I think it would be a good Idea to implement that part aswell. Yoshi P even admitted that he took parts of different games to see if it would work, which it did. So I dont understand why its frowned upon to try to make the game better.
    Furthermore, true an Npc that says if a S rank has spawned is easy but imagine the amount of people going to that zone to try to find the exact location instead of relying on discord groups which many people are not aware of. Also its kind of fits with the RPG element where a NPC shouts at the top of his lungs that a dangerous S rank monster has appeared in Garlemarld and has killed 100s of soldiers. Lastly, if you look at WoW you can find the giant arena in strangletorn vale, where upon entering (on the gladiator field) it becomes free for all, which was done during vanilla times, 2005. They have implemented this aswell during warlords of draenor in garrisons. WoW has even pushed it even more by putting on or off the pvp mode in major cities. If this is possible since 2005 then I dont know why its suddenly not available in 2022. Ive really thought about what is possible and whats not.

    just had a look at blue protocol and the zones look much more natural and less empty/boring, shame it doesnt have enough npc to fill in the world. Look ath 1:50, the view is amazing. Would be nice if ff14 would spend more detail on the environment aswell.
