Adding one more voice complaining about the steam authentication not working. Would love to be able to not use steam for this without restarting my whole account

Mine got back now, but used that option to verify for corrupeted files and re-install patches... Slept during the afternoon, time to level up my culinari.. mean, make a sandwich.

Same issue here, uninstalled it and tried to reinstall a few times until it worked? Although people on reddit are saying that was unnecessary.

Yeah, didn't have to do that... was not a fault at our end. But, one more day at the life of the adventurers... Steam Savage/EX.

I also did this. I'm with you on this. We did not have to do this but I commend you for doing something to try and fix it.
We're trying our best over here fixing problems.
