I don't know if I would like underground. The Dravanian zone has the underground world kind of setting and its very dark and I just want to always get out.

We could also have more underwater things. I think that is heavily underutilized.

We have a desert already but one that I feel would be really cool if they can get the SFX right is the sandsea:




That with some cool Egyptian theme'd space might be pretty fun.

Bit of a tangent but I could imagine a semi-psychedelic desert space where the sand falls upwards, rivers of seasand, oasis's, etc... Giant trees like in Studio Ghibli Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke and the hidden lake of Dark Souls, but in a desert instead lol.

this plz. i am an absolute sucker for that kind of aesthetic, and it's honestly the sole reason I still prefer Ul'dah over the other city-states in the game

Welp from the known remaining places, New World is supposedly South American ish and a hefty chunk of Meracydia is a Madmax wasteland so other settings would possibly have to be on other planets or other shards.

I hope that will be a thing with the Duskwight Elezens if they ever get a chance to shine one day.

As a Duskwight main, I would love to see Gelmorra open for more exploration outside of PotD and Toto-Rak.

The real reason why I'm excited for the Criterion dungeons is because the first one is Sil'dah and we know that there will be more - and with how Agalia used the Ul'dah theme and ended its focus on the patron deity of Ul'dah, implying that the next two tiers will do the same for our other two Starter Cities - is that there seems to be a renewed effort from the dev team to return to under-explored Eorzean areas and history. And that the next most logical setting for the second Criterion dungeon is Gelmorra. Which also means escorting another NPC through it repeatedly and a decently lengthy side-quest.

The Tempest is by far my least favorite zone in this game, and the kobold mines most hated in ARR - but the Nu Mou caves have enough color and verticality, and Toto-Rak's revamp helped it.

I'm waiting for the futuristic ala Bladerunner / Cyberpunk 2077 city on another shard. Since we know entities like Omicrons exist, no reason to believe that technology can't just be way more advanced somewhere else. Emet said civilizations on other shards would surprise me.

That would be cool. I adore The First, but it does still feel very much like a 'reflection' of Eorzea (Which I know was the point but...) I would love to see a Shard which really is weird and unusual, be it cyberpunk, an underwater empire, Fallout-like dystopia etc.
