None of them have "retired", and that "disbanding" was for the general public, "going back to the shadows for now" as their main job is done. The problems that do occur can be handled by the Grand Company of Eorzea, which is why it was created in the first place.

Which is what Alphinaud intended, as he and the others didnt want the Grand Companies leaning on them all the time..they have to learn to handle their own issues, and can call on the Scions when they are really needed. Nowhere in any MSQ or by any comments from YoshiP has he said they are "retiring characters", in effect they are off doing their own thing on standby until really needed.

So until Yoshi-P personally spoonfeed it to you, you're not allowed to draw your own conclusions from the text? You people sure have an incredibly warped view of "objectivity".
Maybe the Scions will come back full force next patch, maybe not. But this isn't an incorrect read of the story as most of the previous main cast seems disconnected from the current arc, and depending on the direction it goes, we could be headed towards a Heavensward-like expansion mostly focused on a reduced cast, which would be a breath of fresh air in my opinion. Or they will go the Shadowbringers/Endwalker route and have them with us all the time always, who knows?
You certainly don't so stop with the dumb outrage over other people's views.

But you too are doing it with your inexact wording. You said "None of the Scions are being retired from the main party", but wouldn't the truly objective way to phrase it be "We currently have no official confirmation that the Scions are being retired from the main party"?

Then why drag him down for his source lol when you're not even going to attempt to find your own sources that plenty of people have enjoyed the story? Twitter is a good place to start as any since you're looking at people's opinions. What, do you think Yoshi is going to poll and release results that shows that the player base didn't like EW popular to contrary belief?

I don't even dislike EW at all, I actually rather thought it had some strong moments in the story. But let's not pretend that it doesn't have it's problems.

for how much I'd love to get rid of scions more than anything else, I don't think that's happening.
The current party only has 2 scions, yes, because they're the ones we're going into the void with. But it's not like we're moving to the void for life, you know, it's just a trip. And meanwhile, we have Graha in the alliance raids series.
The rest are likely to join us when we get back, but honestly we have absolutely no clue if that's the case or of what will happen then, we're just starting our trip to the void and that's all we know.

So if all you got out of 6.1 was 3-4 hours of content it sounds like you did the MSQ and that's it (other than the PvP) since it takes 3-4 hours to get through the 6.1 MSQ unless you're cutscene/dialog skipping.

So you skipped:

Endsinger's Aria
Ultimate
Ultima's Bane Unreal
Tataru's Grand Endeavor
Omega: Beyond the RIFT
Somehow Further Hildebrand Adventures
Arkasodara Tribal Quests and raising your rank to Bloodsworn
Ameliance Custom Deliveries and increasing your reputation for the title and glamour
Doing the Excite-a-tron for the new rewards that were added
crafting the new gear and housing items

Can't do all of that in 3-4 hours and most of it is PvE content (there's more to player versus environment than just killing a monster). Maybe you should check out all the things you missed.

It's your choice to tunnel vision on a tiny segment of what the game offers but it completely false to state that the game does not offer more when it does but you're choosing not to do it.
