At this point I'm just going to ignore anything you ever say in this forum (lets see how long that'll last on me lol) AwesomJr44. You clearly have no idea how game development works and have unrealistic expectations and I'd be surprised if you were ever happy with other MMO's content cycles, if somehow FFXIV's patches gets your diapers in a twist because you wish for more in the short time frame the devs have for each cycle.

No, I'm not advocating to never give feedback or keep pushing for more or other type of content thrown into this game, or to even kiss papa yoshi-p and his breakfast club of dev's ass but if you lack the basic perspective to the amount of work that is put into this game then thats not on them, that's a "you" problem.

I was super excited for the new content they are giving us, especially these new Criterion dungeons. I want to preface this by saying that pugging savage raids has always been a nightmare for me and just downright depressing, a part of raiding I love is the connection I made with static members and having the consistent support of the same people every week.

The reason I was super excited was because finally we are getting high difficulty content that won't be 8 man groups. I work a lot and my schedule is very unpredictable so having a static that I can run savage content with is quite impossible for me, having 7 other people try to match up with my annoying and constantly changing schedule and have it not interfere with their schedules is ridiculous.

However, having 4 man groups and only having to worry about 3 other people makes it A LOT easier in terms of planning or even doing sudden runs without much warning. I was so excited because I haven't been able to raid in a static in years and I always loved raiding a lot.

But then during the live letter Yoshi P mentions having the new raid tier gear to be strong enough to do the Savage Criterion Dungeons and my heart sank. Finally I was going to be able to do savage content without it being locked behind 7 other people only to find out that it is in fact still locked behind grouping with 7 other people. The dungeon clearly has a lot of similarities to BA and DR Savage and so I was hoping that the gear would either not matter or have a different kind of stats scaling like with Bozja.

Please, on the very off chance that the Dev team sees this comment I beg you to please consider changing this in the future to make it more accessible to those of us who can't schedule 8 man groups for savage raids.

You CANNOT tell me that 3-4 hours of gameplay is meant to last over the course of 4 months. That's only an hour every month if you want to spread it out. This is an MMO. Even if it's not designed for hardcore players playing it 10 hours a day, it's absolutely laughable to have 3-4 hours of content and expect that to last until the next patch, or even until 6.15.

This game has a genius design where if you only want to spend 3-4 hours, you can, but if you want to spend longer, you can give yourself a goal like farming mounts or glamour. SE puts a mount behind spending longer on this content for people who want to spend more time playing, but SE is also trying to develop other reasons to play for longer such as interior decorations, Island Sanctuary, the Gold Saucer, PvP and RP features such as fashion accessories or glamour.

I dont ever remember them making any kind of promise in this area.

I think it would have been a better opportunity to add something more in the way of tropical fantasy for island sanctuary as opposed to the two sets that were previewed today.

FFXIV is a quality product: it runs well on a wide variety of hardware, is realtively free of software bugs, and lots of people enjoy it. The quality of FFXIV is not your issue: it's that FXXIV isn't exactly what you want.

Well, cupcake, I have news for you: hardly anything ever is.
There's always some aspect of anything that you would change if you were in charge.
But you're not.

Whether it's a work of art, a video game, a car, a restaurant meal, a friend, or a spouse, happiness comes from appreciating the important things you value, and not getting your panties in a knot about the little things that aren't exactly as you'd like.

Stop thinking you're an omniscient and all-wise god, the final arbitor of good and bad.
Learn humility, and an appreciation for how hard creating a product as complex as an MMO game is, much less how hard it is to make a successful one.
Then maybe you'll find it easier to be happier with what you've bought.
Because the perfect game you want? No one sells it, and probably never will.

And realize that it's one thing to pine for, say, a straw hat that has opening for Viera ears to pass through, and wish for one on the forums, and another thing entirely to insult the devs (and anyone who doesn't think it matters) and/or get all salty because such a hat doesn't exist.

These are just a handful of examples of the developers not putting in the proper effort because they know they'll have people like you to cover for them. As I have said before. If there are not enough devs to make quality long-lasting content for a patch, HIRE MORE DEVELOPERS!!!

since you love teh game so much more than everyone else, and you have an idea of how things should be done, would be great for you to work there. so go ahead, work there. it sounds like an ideal fit with your passion for how things should be done and all that.

When they introduced the new housing items I was hoping they were going to tell us which ones were going to earnable in game and which is mogstation exclusives, lol.
The island really reminded me of the mog island in XI, that's pretty neat.
The fact they restated that they were not going to do sweeping changes without telling why they are made me lol. Why give us an explanation if you are going to do it regardless, lol?
I'm pretty sure I saw one of the four fiends from FF4 so that's neat that we are going to see them in glorious "Third Dimension".
The music sounds pretty good and it sounds like Soken cranked out another banger!
The MSQ stuff really didn't do it for me anymore, that felt weird. :/
Oh yeah! Also, the glowing gear they showed off reminded me of all the bad parts of WoW gear. That was really disheartening. lol
