WXHB Change from Double Tap to hold LT + RT

The title says it all, I feel that we should be able to have an option to change how to access our WXHB from double tapping the corresponding trigger to holding both triggers. I know you can just clone both hotbars to have the same skills set and you can then activate it that way, but then you're getting rid of 16 slots that could be used.

From my perspective, I'm coming from playing with Mouse and Keyboard in this game. I've played with 45 keyboard buttons mapped (15 mapped + ctrl and shift modifiers) when I didn't have an MMO mouse, and I've played with an MMO mouse with 36 buttons mapped (12 mapped + ctrl and shift modifiers).

After playing this way for a few years I'm just now trying out controller, and some jobs feel squished with only having 32 hotbar slots available by using cloned hotbars on a controller.

Just my two cents that more customization of the UI/HUD is almost always better than having less.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but controller does have hotbars for LT + RT and RT + LT. The double tab hotbars are an even further expansion.

Isn't it 48 slots if you use everything?

The WXHB is the hotbar that shows up above your normal XHB and is only accessible when double tapping triggers. If you use LT + RT, it accesses a bar that is hidden from view, thus not seeing what is on cooldown at all times. I am proposing the idea of allowing you to access your WXHB (the visible hotbar) via holding LT + RT rather than double tapping the triggers. As far as I know from googling, this isn't an option.

Solutions people have proposed for this is to clone your hotbars for both holding the triggers, and double tapping the triggers. This allows you to still see your skills and the cool down on said skills via the WXHB. However doing this essentially denies you 16 slots on your XHB, leaving you with 32 hotbar slots.

I'm sorry if this wasn't clear from what I said above. Also, if I'm incorrect and you can set accessing the WXHB via holding the triggers, PLEASE tell me how to set this option.

I see what you mean. What I do personally is have a M&K style horizontal hotbar placed right below my main cross-bar. I only use it as a spot to visually place icons for skills that I need to track a cooldown for.

Alternatively, I use many of those "hidden" slots for things where I don't need to track cooldowns. For instance, on most jobs I have my entire AoE moveset bound to the LT+RT hotbar. There's nothing to track because I only use it during AoE.

That's actually a fantastic idea, while I still would prefer an option to change it I'll use this in the meantime. Thanks!

For the third bar that is hidden from view, I only use it for stuff that isn't on a CD timer as I had a similar problem. But that works perfectly fine for me.
