Secret mudra combinations?

We all know failed mudra combinations produce the bunny of shame, but wouldn't it be neat if some combinations produced other random effects? Like if Ten ten Chi Ten Jin Ten Chi Jin. made a little dragon spin around my neck, or my character freezes for a few seconds, or little fireworks shoot off around me, or my hair changes color, or any number of other silly Easter eggs. I just think it would be fun.

Not particularly. If anything, get rid of the bunny - it's not thematically relevant at all and the mudra lockout on failed ninjutsu is too punishing as it is.

(That being said, I'm not opposed to to a failure mode even though I'm not aware of other classes having public announcements of abilities not being used correctly. Real NIN just do them correctly )

You can see when a BLM accidentally drops Astral Fire/Umbral Ice.

Not quite in the same spirit, perhaps, but you can also see when an SCH or SMN doesn't have their pet out, when a DNC or SGE hasn't picked a partner, and when a tank doesn't have their stance on.

Yes but it's not visually jarring. Dropping Astral/Umbral doesn't spawn a dunce hat on your nicely glamoured mage with a big goofy poof.

There's a lot I personally find aesthetically distasteful about NIN, but the dumb rabbit is objectively there just to clown you.

No one is gonna know that I dropped my Kaiten... correction, my non-existing Kaiten. I can fk up endlessly now. The bunny hat is really something for NIN. I don't even know if its a reference to an older FF game, it would somehow not surprise me.

Yuup, Setzer's Slots ability from FF6 has a rabbit with any losing combination.

Honestly... Who's even looking at a Ninja's head when there's so many special effects going on a given fight even with other players' effects turned off? XDDD

But not just those you mentioned. DNC sometimes I spot people putting more steps than needed (which means they're getting Simon wrong)... AST relaying cards to the wrong person you can see in the UI (like a tank or a healer getting a card)... Sometimes you see a WHM casting Cure 1.. <COUGH> oops.

there will never be really any completely "secret" types of moves in the game, because anytime a patch comes out, it's datamined into the ground and everything is laid bare unfortunately.

I really don't mind the bunny but I wish it reset our Justsu so we could try again. Getting a dunce hat, wasting time, and losing the intended skill really hurts. Especially if you end up chaining multiple mudra and ruin them all because the first didn't register.
