Likely not soon or anytime in the future..cause of two words. Cultural differences!!
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

I doubt it. Each region has their own playstyle. NA and JP approach content differently, with NA favoring “greedy” play and JP favoring “safer” play. Besides, there would also be a language barrier that auto-translate might not be able to break.

I don't think its a culture difference more of a coding issue then anything have other servers on one data server talk is one thing having other servers from other data servers is another
It could be possible one day... maybe but not a easy fix might not even be possible in this game its self I don't know the code for FF or how their servers work exactly but that's what it is so one can hope
Free the Glam!, Duel Pistols (Gunner)?
I'm confident it can be done across regions and Yoshi-P has told us multiple times it is possible, but they aren't sure if they should do it and want our feedback on the forums.
We can already visit other data centers across regions by paying money for the Home World Transfer Service, which is proof that it's possible. The DC Travel and World Visit systems provide the infrastructure to do that temporarily and prevent it from corrupting your data or confusing the server, but with those already in place, I think they are just concerned about cultural or economic differences.
The restrictions on travel between data centers in the same region are as heavy as they would be across regions, otherwise we would still have access to FC and CWLS from other data centers in the same region. The FC and CWLS chats are obviously in the same building on different NA data center but they are pretending they are not.

when and if they get it working the same problem will always happen that is they will abuse it till they shut it down for repair with updates.
That is a possibility with any patch ever, especially one that carries a significant risk to our data such as switching worlds. Every time a big or risky feature is released they will be prepared for the possibility that players find a way to break it that they didn't anticipate.

I hope they don't, but if they do, disable Trade and MB purchases from different Regions, Only allow these two features on your own Regions DC.
