Same issue here i realy getting tired of this crap i start to play this game 1 year ago and is the 5th time that i have this problem i dont care if is Steam of SE problema im a costumer and i pay por a service and is SE responsibility to find a final solution for steam players.

ideally, would allow an option to transfer off Steam. period. yes, we all made mistakes getting the game through Steam, but obviously Steam via their support, doesnt care, they got their cut. Time to cut Steam out completely and allow us to transfer to a PC license. I have zero problems in having to rebuy the game, but I refuse to lose my characters just to end teh blood contract with Steam.

Why is steam authentication even a thing? There is no purpose for it other than causing a failure state like this.

The launcher already makes us authenticate with our license login ID and password, that should be authentication enough.

Steam does not require games to use its authentication to be sold on steam.

For the love of God make the Steam authentication optional. I'll be the first to admit that it's good for account security, but I do not appreciate being locked out of a subscription based game every time Steam shits the bed- which is often. There are enough security features already that it's downright unnecessary for the 90% of players who aren't falling for every phishing scam whisper they get.
If I had known this would be a problem before I bought the game on Steam I never would have bothered. I would switch to an SE-tied account in a heartbeat if they offered it.

I have the same problem aswell... again!
This really pisses me off. Never had the problem in all those years and now twice in a week.
Would be nice if they could start fix things. As much as I love FF14, but there are so many problems theses days and while constant updates or letters from Yoshi himself are nice. They wouldn't be nessesary if they would just fix stuff before they break.
