    Yeah doesn't help that when you google "technical issue ffxiv launcher" all the guides from third parties say the last resort is to reinstall. We had this issue once before after a patch and a reinstall did fix it, so I assumed it was the same deal. I only thought to go to social media to check if anyone else had this issue after not being able to fix it with a clean install. Def know for the future now and will check here first, hah. Hopefully some of those other sites update their articles to mention it can be a their-side issue and not just your computer.

    Having an official statement from Square when they're aware this is happening would be really nice, at minimum, so we don't spend ages troubleshooting.

    Even if it works, we shouldn't stop wanting this to change. This is something that is going to persist. We really should ask for change - all of us.

    to be fair, its the first issue I have had with teh launcher since I got the game.

    however, I have wanted to move the game away from Steam for a while simply because it would be easier for paying my subscription. We SHOULD have an option to repurchase the game if we need to and transfer character to the SE account.

    Had an event planned for a minute after the steam servers went down (again). Are we at the point where the steam users have been screwed over enough times for SE to actually do something about this, or does it still need to happen more times to make absolutely sure that this is, in fact, an issue? It did just get fixed but we all know it's only a matter of time before it happens again.

    I have submitted a ticket to Square Enix regarding this. You can find the EU ticket submission website here - https://support.eu.square-enix.com/c...hp?id=612&la=2

    There wasn't a really good option to choose under the categories, so I just chose "In-Game/Game Contents" for the Contact Category and "Known Issues" for the Contact Sub-category.

    I explained the issue in full, advising that it is affecting a large number of users, asking them to please intervene on our behalf and liaise with Steam to resolve the problem. Hopefully something will come of it.

    I encourage everyone else having this issue to submit a ticket to support in the same way. If enough of us do it, Square Enix will perhaps take notice and prioritise a fix.
