Crash after connection - Trial account

Hello,

Posting this for a friend who has difficulty

I have a problem with my FF14 game

It used to work, but once I reached the point of a certain boss, then, it suddenly crashed, and I solved the problem by having a friend of mine with the full game installed run it in my stead

But now that I'm taking over the account, every time I connect my character (after the connection queue), it suddenly crashes the game.

Here are the steps I took :
- I reinstalled the trial version of the game 4 times, and same shit
- I updated my RADEON graphic card, same shit
- I changed the display parameters (resolution...), same shit

I really need some help to get back into the game, if anyone has an idea or ever encountered such an issue please.

(it had always worked until I reinstalled it after some "specific MSQ area crashes", and then no matter which trial account - mine or a noob friend who never had his account used through a full game owned version - I try to connect, all crash at the same area)

Current GPU : AMD Radeon(TM)530
Current CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-825U CPU @1.60...

So it only crashes when logging on your machine but works fine on your friend's machine? If so then it sounds like a hardware/software issue rather than an account issue.

Have you tried creating another character and logging in? If it lets you do this then I suspect there's a problem relating to the original character - could be corrupt character settings (Character settings are (by default in Windows) stored in "Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn" - if you didn't remove these when reinstalling the game the fresh install may still use them and as a result there could be corrupted data within there causing the issue) or server side related which SE Support would need to investigate though if the character logs on fine on other machines then this is unlikely.

If it happens on all characters then certainly an install issue -again, could be corrupted character settings, antivirus locking a file (ensure you exclude your game directory and character settings from scans), hardware related. Difficult to say without any diagnostic data - FFXIV support will require system information which can be gathered via the options menu in your game launcher.

FFXIV support will require system information which can be gathered via the options menu in your game launcher.

Ok, so sounds like a system-wide issue so that rules out character specific or server side.

It's worth a shot if you're re-installing. Another option is to move everything from that folder to another folder somewhere else on your hard drive (leaving the folder intact but empty) rather than doing a full reinstall. The game should re-create the folders/files on launch (ALL settings will revert to default). If you're still having issues then the game files themselves are likely a problem but it'll rule out any config corruption at least.
