    Tanking at the pt

Why are all these tanks these days tanking the boss at the party?
I understand meme'ing the pt but, this has been happening in just about every pt I've been in.
Is that the new way of tanking now? Tank at the pt so people with positionals never get max dps.

I don't understand what the problem you are having is. Is the tank tanking it so the bosses rear positionals are outside of the arena?

Probably because Cleaves on Normals and even Tank Busters is becoming more and more rare outside of raid content

Some bosses will position themselves facing south for certain mechanics. In that case, it's smart to tank them facing South from the very beginning with the party North. This way, no positionals get screwed up when the boss suddenly faces south for a mechanic.

I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.

Sounds like people picking up the role without ever looking into how it's supposed to work. I've also noticed lots off weird stuff like this myself, mostly my cotank staying with the party after a tank swap? Like, hello buddy, you're not a melee DPS, get up here with me and TANK this boss.

As long as we keep seeing changes in line with removing WAR cone AoE, catering to casuals, I have to imagine you'll keep getting worse and worse tanks.

I have my tanks at 90 I know what most of the bosses do.
When I say Tank at the party I mean the tanks have been staying with the pt when they tank. The pt is south, the tank is south; pt moves north, tank moves north.
This has been happening mostly in trials, raids and 24-man raids.

I think you're answering your own question here. Normal trials, raids and 24-man are all casual content.. attracting casual players. If your tank is a casual player, it's likely all they know is "stay with the party" as that's mostly all they've done as a DPS / dedicated OT.

The idea of a "dedicated OT" is becoming especially egregious, popping up in Savage I see this, as a newer player myself trying to learn the game. Notice how most tank swaps seem to be handled by immediately Shirking back to the tank that pulled? As a standard, not something that was discussed before the pull. This is obviously not the intended way to handle swaps as evidenced by the Busters happening more than once within Shirk's cooldown. Yet, it's basically the way P1S is ran by default; I find myself having to ask the tank to actually hold agro if I want to do OT stuff (flexing with a South DPS)

I mean there is no such thing as a dedicated OT or MT anymore except designating positions for macro, or for who is currently tanking, it's more appropriate to refer to as co tanking in most cases.

Specifically with P1s, I'm sure you are aware that there are some busters that will require tank swaps, due to a magic vuln applied, followed by a flare or stack. These kind of tank swaps do not need any sort of communication since it's painfully obvious that if you don't swap, the other tank is dead. Ofc, invulns can be used to circumvent a tank swap at a certain point, but from experience there is no guarantee that you will always be the South tank doing the swap with the DPS, as I have had to do either North or South depending on which pattern happens first.
Tangentially for a second, really as WAR, where you can, you should try to maintain threat on the boss as frequently as possible since you have the most amount of self sustain out of all tanks, so long as mitigation and debuffs permit it.

Also yes, not as frequent, UCoB was the last place off the top of my head where busters forcing tanks swaps happen where shirk is still on cooldown. Easiest way to handle these is for the tank taking the buster is to turn off stance and no issues, can also come about where one or both tanks go down for whatever reason, or even if you shirk too early.
