Basically it's less cartoony and "Dora the Explorer"-esque and focuses on using the game's innate cheerful tone to be catchy while still being serious about the rest of the presentation.

Another thing I was thinking but wasn't going to say. (･∀･；)
The JP's healer guide has a little bit at the end that says you can DPS when you don't need to heal.
I do hope the Western languages get some more guides that go more in-depth on the roles and other things the JP guides do like various fight mechanics/markers and buffs vs debuffs. Both the Western and JP could also use some more guides like explaining jobs.

One critique of the JP's Healer guide I have is that the lone CNJ was kind of sad to see (they showed classes vs jobs). (They really should give SCH its own class) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Bro, they spent nearly an entire video on creating a character. It's clear that the western division thinks it's playerbase isn't that bright and these videos really do showcase it, lol. If this keeps up I really will be forging ahead, to single player games while doubling down on my feeling that modern online games really were a mistake, lol.

These videos aren't meant for someone who's played an MMO, knows what Final Fantasy is, or someone who's touched a video game in years if ever. Or somewhat even for someone who's only played Candy Crush or Farmville. A lot of things in those videos cover a lot of questions that have popped up in the new player help section of these forums. Along with questions I've seen asked in NN (back when I'd pop in there), in shout chat and by FC mates who are new to the game. Could the art style be different and the information given differently? Sure, but again people have been asking for official guides ect for years. This really should be a non issue. I guess the most likely burnt out(but not ready to admit it), too cynical and has to always complain about something or they might feel that their voice won't get heard somehow crowd gotta rub that itch.

Whether they really think that or not, the past 10 or so years show that idea is not wrong. Eastern civ has been ahead of the curve for quite some time.

That aside, I think some folks could stand to lighten up. This wasn't made for you. Stop taking all this stuff so personally.

The standards I have for this game in terms of story, tone, and aesthetics were not adequately reached in Endwalker, which was very different compared to the reception of Shadowbringers. To that end I am looking forward to Diofield Chronicle, whose demo just released today. FFXIV is now in a position where it now has to compete with other games that are higher in my list of priorities, when there was a time when it took the top spot in terms of video games I play.

Gritty and dark all the time aren't all that interesting.

And it's ok to play other games. Probably healthier. I've been playing XIV since 2010, and I still play new releases that come out. There's literally nothing wrong with that

I prefer a more fantasy look and especially sound, the avatars are ok in that video but remind me of an infomercial or some mobile 1.99 app ...ick.

I want and expect ffxiv tutorials/videos/content to give me shivers like this did in ffxi

-in here...its lacking, FFXIV did a much better job of creating the atmosphere and feelings in the beginning of the games release, and its still a great game! but something big has been lost.
