There are a thousand things I could say to this...but Ill save the history lesson for another day.The Brits are still salty that the Americans whooped them in the Revolutionary War and came to save their butts in not one but both world wars. lel
Nah not really, most of us are used to clicking on the USA flag. Curious why they didn't use the split flag, or just the USA one, instead upload 2 versions of the same video just with different flags.

Yeah I was expecting your typical Londoner accent when clicking on the UK one. Did anyone see the JP ones they posted three days ago? They're different but it's a lot less hand holdy. There are some who have been asking for official guides though. I do hope they ad more as even if they do come off their target are those who have never picked up an MMO before.

Yes, and vice versa, as evidenced by these here forums. The only difference is that it's more normalized to point the finger and shit all over the US for it.
Meanwhile, those videos encouraged pulling with Provoke, and said healers should stay out of the way and heal. So, I guess that's our future, can't wait for that AST update in 7.0. Looking forward to it.
I'll be honest, I don't know why you even bothered to answer him, since that's basically his entire M.O..

Need to remember these guides are being released in multiple languages. They're going to develop them in a style that resonations with their JP audience (which may also resonate with international players who enjoy anime). It's the dialogue localization that differs.
I have to admit that the dialog doesn't click with me as an older person but I don't know what age audience they're trying to target or if that's representative of the majority denographic for new players. On the other hand, it also doesn't really bug me since I don't expect them to be designing promotional material for those close to my age.
Or it could be they're assuming older players have prior MMO experience and are unlikely to watch the guide, that only younger players would. After all, it's not promotional material intended to generate direct sales. It's promotional material directed at those who have already installed the game and want to start playing.
What would be more useful to SE than feedback from us jaded game veterans is feedback from those new to the game or who are considering getting it. That would help them determine if they're hitting the mark for the intended audience.
Each version displays the rating system relevant to the region (ESRB for US, PEGI for UK). Just about everything that SE releases in multiple languages will end up with both US and UK versions as a result.

IIRC, they released a completely different, more straight-to-the-point and actually more in-depth series of guide videos specifically for Japan that doesn't use this animation style at all.
....So....
After finally watching all 6 episodes (or 7 if you count the intro), I realized that the animation and to some degree the voice acting reminded me very much of Disney animated movies from the 1990s and 2000s. I wonder if they brought in some old (or even current) Disney employees as consultants.
It taught me only ninjas should use limit breaks and mentors like to spoil the story for new players. (yeah, those sections could have been done better)
It's decent for a first effort as a starter's guide but definitely could use some touch ups to better explain some things (like the limit break).
It's also targeted at free trial players. They should add an episode for paid players that talk about things like free companies, linkshells and retainers.
Have a link to it by any chance? I'd be curious to watch it even if I can't understand what's being said. I tried checking the first couple pages of the JP Lodestone topics but I couldn't find anything that seems to be related.

By any chance, you mean this?

I only bothered to look up the healer’s part at the moment but they’ve clearly uploaded the other parts 3 days ago at the time I wrote this reply so it shouldn’t be too far to scroll down their video list.
EDIT: Nvm, finally got back to my laptop so I can easily edit my post to include the rest:
